  1. I have had a set of Darksoul boulders in my WH20 for over 5 years and can attest to their quality and colour matching if they go back into production ;)
  2. Take a chill pill mate! They are just saying that any pinball machine working or not is worth more than a non working one armed bandit. People have asked you what you think it's worth and you are shooting them down. Is it an rare machine? I don't know the value of one armed bandits but I know what I would rather own. I guess people are just expressing that you have not given enough information. What type of pinball machine do you expect to get as a trade?
  3. Clay has confirmed it was a joke and it will keep being updated. Abiet very slowly. Good news, apparently the latest update is almost ready. Bring on 2017
  4. According to Phoenix Arcade, the next update will be the last and the board will be discontinued this year. Disappointing :(
  5. Thanks heaps for the info Woody - - - Updated - - - I have ordered one from modelflight $220 with free shipping. Thanks for your help :023:
  6. Thanks Woody, they look like a very durable car with good reviews for a entry level model. How long is the run time off a full charge? Where did you buy yours from? I could only find one supplier in Australia. Regards, Matt.
  7. Hi guys, I have no idea what is available in RC cars these days. My 8 year old son is looking to spend his pocket money to buy a good quality RC car. He would like something around the $300 mark. We live on property and the main area the car would be run is on a gravel driveway. Obviously durability and spare part availability is a big plus. I am open to any suggestions you guys have. Thanks in advance. Matt.
  8. It is fast. Easy to accidently run into bullets or planes coming from the bottom. Bit of a novelty more than anything
  9. Almost forgot, there was a premium Metallica pinball in the foyer, great to see it getting a bit of love before and after the show
  10. Well what can I say, it was what I expected in terms of being a concert with a flimsy story line going on in the background. Sometimes the story was a little disconnected and didn't feel quite right, but it was easily overlooked by the amazing IMAX concert footage. They had cameras mounded on wires around the stadium, in the crowd, and cameras up close on the stage, it really looked awesome. I must say I really do not enjoy watching 3D movies at all, they give me eye strain and give me a headache when it is overused and the director has all sorts of things hurtling at you. But this was much different, subtle use of 3D to give depth inside the concert hall made you feel like you were in the crowd. Definitely not as good as going to the concert but the next best thing. The volume was set loud in the cinema and the concert sounded great. Plenty of bass rumbling your seat, again not as loud as one of their concerts, but loud enough for a cinema. -----SPOILER ALERT----- The use of their old sets was great, I have seen some of it live and some of it on concert DVDs but it was good to see it all together, the electric chair and lady justice in particular. The laser show has been expanded from their last death magnetic tour and looked particularly good when combined with the pyrotechnics on the song "one" The one set that didn't fit was the one used in cunning stunts where a big light tower falls and explodes and a man runs across the stage on fire and paramedics come out to help another injured by the fall. Looks good in a normal concert because you can not tell if it is supposed to be happening, but in a film with fictional parts interwoven into it, it felt a bit lame, I'm sure if you didn't know it was part of a different tour it may be ok, but still doesn't have the same shock effect in a non fictional concert if you get my drift. Overall if you are a Metallica fan you will love this movie, for it's absolutely amazing concert footage, if nothing else
  11. First review of an advanced screening at the Toronto Film Festival, sounds great, can't wait http://www.hitfix.com/motion-captured/review-metallicas-through-the-never-pushes-3d-imax-past-the-breaking-point
  12. I have been waiting for this for awhile and tickets have just been released (in Melbourne at least not sure about the rest of Aus) for the new Metallica movie, it is only showing for one week. I cant vouch for the story line so don't shoot me down, but visually it looks amazing. Metallica have been trying to different arty things to get their music out there lately Lars has talked in depth about moving forward in different mediums etc. Anyways, they have pulled out all their old sets set them up and taken footage with IMAX 3D cameras infront of live audiences and seeing responses written from people that were in the crowd whilst shooting was being undertaken sounds pretty awesome. Here is a little information with the flimsy story line to go with it: FROM http://www.imaxmelbourne.com.au/movie/metallica_through_the_never_an_imax_3d_experience Metallica Through the Never 3D will be presented in IMAX DIGITAL One week only - strictly limited sessions - do not miss this event in IMAX 3D! - Tickets on sale Thursday 8th* August @ 12pm *tickets were originally planned for release 1st Aug, however the Australian based sub-distributors have asked us to delay for a further week - apologies for any inconvenience caused The BIGGEST BAND, The BIGGEST SCREEN - 3D HAS NEVER FELT THIS HEAVY! "IMAX! It doesn't get bigger or cooler than that!" said Lars Ulrich who formed Metallica in 1981 together with James Hetfield. "For four guys in a rock band of average height, to get a chance to unleash their 3D film on IMAX screens the size of buildings across the country is a mind-blowing thought. 'Hey look, Mom, I'm 50 feet tall (finally!)' There is no better way to experience film and when you throw in the spectacle of music and sound this should amount to an unprecedented, unique and truly next level experience." Starring Metallica, a cast of thousands of their fans and breakout star Dane DeHaan (Chronicle, The Amazing Spider-Man 2), Metallica Through the Never is written and directed by award-winning filmmaker Nimr?d Antal (Predators, Kontroll) and produced by former IMAX film producer Charlotte Huggins (Journey to the Center of the Earth). The film marries groundbreaking footage and editing techniques with a compelling narrative, in which a band crew member (played by DeHaan) is sent out on a mission during Metallica's roaring live set in front of a sold-out arena. While on this mission, he unexpectedly has his life turned completely upside down. The IMAX release of Metallica Through the Never will be digitally re-mastered into the image and sound quality of An IMAX 3D Experience? with proprietary IMAX DMR? (Digital Re-mastering) technology. The crystal-clear images coupled with IMAX's customized theatre geometry and powerful digital audio create a unique environment that will make audiences feel as if they are in the movie. Tickets go on sale at 12pm today but I was able to purchase them already through here https://www.venuetickets.com.au/bookings/web_imaxm/web_selectSession.jsp?cinecode=11110704&movcode=1112033956&categ=11
  13. I received a PM from Matthew, and have forwarded a couple of pics to both your email accounts. Hope it helps you out Regards, Matt.
  14. back to original post, I had a similar experience there, power tripped <_< but didn't actually pay much attention as I had my three boys with me, nagging etc. Shitty thing is I had been talking to David S before I started playing as I HAVE in the distant past purchased a pin from them, I also have purchased a few other bits and pieces through them over the years, and had great service, Dave M lives near me and has personally dropped parts off to my front door. This sort of shit pisses me off now I really think about it, not so much for me, although totally f*cked service, for the newbie looking to get into pinball, potential customer, etc. really poor :realmad:
  15. Tim's web site is here: http://www.pinballrestoration.com.au/ You cannot see it in the pics but he has removed all woodgrain in the cabinet eg, around the head where it faces you, the corners of the cab have been cleverly rounded and smoothed off, it is a seamless effect that will protect the decals down the track and looks fantastic too! Tim has changed his business name to HOT RODDED PINS as that better describes the look for his resto work, polished stainless trim, rechromed, etc. Truely amazing work! Here are a couple more pics I took of his workshop: http://i1187.photobucket.com/albums/z397/stewart_clan/Hot%20Rodded%20Pins/smallSAM_0444.jpg http://i1187.photobucket.com/albums/z397/stewart_clan/Hot%20Rodded%20Pins/SAM_0444crop.jpg http://i1187.photobucket.com/albums/z397/stewart_clan/Hot%20Rodded%20Pins/smallSAM_0446.jpg http://i1187.photobucket.com/albums/z397/stewart_clan/Hot%20Rodded%20Pins/smallSAM_0448.jpg
  16. Tim is a top bloke who has been doing some amazing restoration work which is better that some of the big name US guys, I popped into his new workshop a couple of weeks ago where he was working on a FT is is the best resto I have ever seen in the flesh. Great setup with some truely amazing work going on in there, I look forward to checking out a few more, really inspirational stuff, just wish I had the time and skills to go to that level Here are a couple of pics he has shared http://i374.photobucket.com/albums/oo189/el_timbo86/Hot%20Rodded%20Pins/HRP03.jpg http://i374.photobucket.com/albums/oo189/el_timbo86/Hot%20Rodded%20Pins/HRP11.jpg http://i374.photobucket.com/albums/oo189/el_timbo86/Hot%20Rodded%20Pins/HRP04.jpg http://i374.photobucket.com/albums/oo189/el_timbo86/Hot%20Rodded%20Pins/HRP01.jpg
  17. http://callkck.com/pin/guides.html
  18. The Bally/Stern 1977-1985 guide has been uploaded. The WPC guide has also been uploaded If anyone has any of the other guides saved as a .MHTML format preferabaly, which have been downloaded in the last 12 months let us know.
  19. A fellow Pinhead in the US has been doing his best to get the lastest updates available to everyone again freely on the net. He is hosting them in zip files on his website. I had a version of the EM guides that I uploaded only two weeks before Clay pulled the whole show. He edited, fixed broken links and zipped into one file, it is now accessable, I have verified this. When he has some more of the guides up, this link will be 'leaked' to everyone. If anyone has recent downloads of any of the guides, other than the EM guides, send me a PM and I will forward you his email address. He will then upload them and let you know where he is hosting them. His plan is to have these guides available again as individual zip files for each series of the guide, in a simple one click download. Here is part of an email he sent to me: Anyway, if you have any more updated stuff or more complete stuff than what was on the archive yesterday, please feel free to send it and I'll store it on my web space so folks can access it. It would be nice to have a pretty late updated version of it archived if whomever has it at hand would be willing to send it to me and/or others so it doesn't just disappear. It just seems ridiculous for Clay to just take his ball home and let the whole pinball community suffer for it. Hopefully we can get this valuable resource available to everyone again
  20. Great news Tony, although I enjoy 90s pins more, I always love the sound of score reels ticking over and the chimes of an old em. I look forward to getting my hands dirty on the Volley when it arrives down here :023:
  21. Thanks for the link Tony :023: I thought it was a good deal, I was prepared to pay a little more, at least now I have a little more money left over to restore it
  22. I picked up the Volley for $1025, I am planning to restore it for my Fathers 60th birthday in April, he has played tennis most of his life, plus it is a great game with all those drop targets
