  1. ok changed direction again, just bought one of the first ps1 analoge controllers, the scph-1110 also called a ps1 flightstick. if all works as planned it should work with ps2 convertors for the 360 and the wii (gamecube)
  2. Found these analogue arcade sticks on aliexpress they are most commonly called 3D joysticks https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005002797741274.html?spm=a2g0s.8937460.0.0.71a32e0ep56pRp https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32842563300.html?spm=a2g0o.productlist.0.0.15264be7zGUPWJ&algo_pvid=318608ba-f759-4b93-963d-ba01c5cb2c07&algo_exp_id=318608ba-f759-4b93-963d-ba01c5cb2c07-3 https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32899841408.html?spm=a2g0o.productlist.0.0.15264be7zGUPWJ&algo_pvid=318608ba-f759-4b93-963d-ba01c5cb2c07&algo_exp_id=318608ba-f759-4b93-963d-ba01c5cb2c07-0 https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32900328403.html?spm=a2g0o.productlist.0.0.15264be7zGUPWJ&algo_pvid=318608ba-f759-4b93-963d-ba01c5cb2c07&algo_exp_id=318608ba-f759-4b93-963d-ba01c5cb2c07-1 https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32919265657.html?spm=a2g0o.productlist.0.0.15264be7zGUPWJ&algo_pvid=318608ba-f759-4b93-963d-ba01c5cb2c07&algo_exp_id=318608ba-f759-4b93-963d-ba01c5cb2c07-2 could just remove thumbsticks from a 360 padhack and wire up to the potentiometers on these analogue sticks.
  3. yeah from 2 madcatz brawlsticks I had. Latest plan is to add Ps2 encoder boards so I can use my PS2 to Gamecube adapters and play Wii and gamecube games. Found a mod for Wii that has built in controller mapping and emulation so that all games will utilise a gamecube controller interface but can emulate wii mote movements and even the IR pointer. Its called RV loader.
  4. I'm not sure if we are allowed to link to other arcade forums, but search Emulator/Driving Cab info thread - Beginners start here! on arcadecontrols.com It is a great resource for what you are looking for. here is my limited knowledge 1. The CRT that is in it, is probably a arcade screen so not a plug and play VGA screen, but you can get convertors. 2. you certainly can, there are ways and means to convert/interact with original arcade parts. 3. no idea on your cabinet, best to load up some photos of the inside connections and boards. I am making a racing arcade at the moment that will run with a HDTV and a Jtag(modded) xbox 360, using a fanatec steering wheel with upgraded pedals and arcade 4 speed and high low shifter. I can play modernish games on the 360 plus it has emulation for some older games and has ports of crazy taxi, sega rally, daytona. funny i cant get a version of Cruisin USA. One thing I love about using the xbox 360 is that all the games work with the xbox steering wheel.
  5. So found this post where someone hacked together a analogue stick from ADAfruit and a standard sanwa arcade stick, I'm planning on doing similar but with those import flight sticks, (has top buttons and triggers) https://amp.reddit.com/r/cade/comments/ds3dxr/analogue_joystick_using_10k_potentiometers/ http://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0399/1689/6418/products/import-flight-stick_1024x.jpg?v=1592079995
  6. Thanks Autosteve, Yes from what I have found I think my only option is to do an analogue conversion with a common ground PCB, I have an old madcatz controller that should be common ground, so might give that a shot after some soldering practice. and yes as far as my research goes it has confirmed that i will need to remove the analogue sticks and wire up resisters to make it work right as a button input.
  7. ok so for your info What is a Twin Stick Shooter? Twin stick shooters are a genre of game which use two controller sticks. One control dictates the character's movement, the other the direction of shooting. So I want to play some twinstick games such as assault and Virtual ON, and that is a easy hack as the the right stick is mapped to the face buttons on a gamepad. the problem is I also want to play other games like alien breed and many many others that use the left and right analogue sticks. note: I am not needing or wanting analogue sticks they are expensive and not really needed. a standard 8 way stick will work fine. What I do need it a way to have the xbox see the movement as using the analogue sticks even though it is either 0 or 100%. Just like some arcade sticks have the switch that allows the arcade stick to act as leftstick, dpad or Right stick. but i need to output Left stick and right stick to two separate arcade sticks. I cant find an easy way to do this Ie a custom PCB that has this feature. anyone done this before or know how to do it ? Thanks Reuben
  8. OK so update, I have a little confession, I made a huge assumption at the start of this thread that there would be an issue with the shifter holding contact with the switches. turns out it was a non issue in game. so I can use the 4 speed shifter as it was made to be used. just have to put in a switch to disable input while in other games so that it does not register unwanted inputs. thinking of just adding a switch that disables gear 1 so I just put the shifter in gear 1 and toggle the switch. also regarding the whole cabinet setup I have been having a lot of ideas regarding wiring setup. The handbrake will have a rotary switch that will select between 4 inputs hacked from the fanatec wheel, in xbox mode a,b,x and the clutch pedal. that will cover every game over ps3 and xbox. other more elaborate plans include 5.1 surround bass shakers vibration motors on the seat wired into the wheel vibration with relays. pedals and seat on seat rails for added flexibility 4 daytona style buttons on dash wired to the 4 face buttons on xbox/ps3 a key and start button wired to back/select and start respectively a racecar style switch/button box with flip switched that will control the power side of things this would utilise relays and control things such as power for the monitor, ps3/xbox, wheel, amp, vibration motors etc.
  9. would have been interested if it was more local, good luck
  10. ok so fitting extra micro switches was going to be a pain, even more so that it had to be mm perfect for it to work, so I looked at adding springs to the existing microswitches, found some springs that could have worked out of some pens. but that was going to be fiddly. Then I had a idea. admittedly its a common mod for logitech 5 speed shifters but it looks like it will work. All I'll do is add an elastic band around the shaft and fix it to the sides of the shifter box. this will make the shifter want to return to the centre and disengage the microswitches. I can adjust it easily with different elastic tension so that it just disengages the switch and does not return to complete centre Example download.jfif
  11. OK, got it. Thanks a lot :) will see how it goes and if I can setup the extra micro switchs in the gate to work.
  12. Oh I think I get it! so the first micro switch is depressed first closing the circuit then the second switch is depressed and breaks the connection? I guess I need 4 normally closed micro switchs then
  13. I'm not sure what you are asking... Actually I know what you are asking (I think) but I am unsure how that works, how does the second micro only send a pulse, why won't it just replicate the first micro? thanks for all this BTW
  14. At the moment they are off a fanatec steering wheel. I have already wired up 4 rca socket connectors on the side of the wheel (A,B,X,Y) for easy connection and customisation. And they work I have tested them with a arcade button connected. So I have the earth and live connection for each of them. I also can change the buttons in the game settings, except for crazy taxi, so I was going to set it up as. (A) (X) (B) (Y) 1 3 2 4 I am also going to relocate the back, start and dpad but they dont need to be one shot. Thanks
