  1. Bubble Wrap. The ball will be made of foam so that it can't possibly injure anyone. The game's zipper flippers will always be in the lower position, rubbers across the outlane posts, endless ball save. The only way to actually end the game is to tilt (and the game will automatically tilt if you get too far ahead of the other players, to avoid hurt feelings). And everyone gets a prize at the end.
  2. The only thing it would need on the playfield would be an "average Aussie" bash toy. The only goal is to bash it as many times as possible.
  3. The Goldrush. Easy theme to understand, even for people who aren't familiar with the details. Could also incorporate stuff like bushrangers, horsemanship and the Eureka Stockade. War in the Pacific. What about selling it in India? A cricket themed game would be a huge hit there.
  4. I'd love to see the protestors wear these: Then the media couldn't accuse them of violence or of not keeping a Safe DistanceTM, and Andrews' police would look comically inept on the news trying to arrest them. Maybe it's time for a Medieval Madness re-theme where the goal is to defeat the Premier of Payne. Or Funhouse: Victorian Edition. Rudy gets replaced by Andrews' ugly head, who blames the player for malfunctions and houseballs. Then the game shuts down when the clock gets to 8PM.
  5. Probably. Nintendo is notorious for this. They announce a product that's guaranteed to be popular, then don't produce enough to meet demand. The shortages generate publicity and create the impression that this is a highly desirable limited edition, which boosts sales when they start the main production run later. The price is a giveaway. If these really were some kind of limited edition collectors' items, they'd be charging hundreds of dollars.
  6. Seems strange that it has SMB and Lost Levels on it. A dozen Game & Watch games would have made a lot more sense.
  7. Looks like a good time to invest in Sweden.
  8. Transport costs have probably gone through the roof since all the coronavirus restrictions- and associated bureaucracy- were brought in.
  9. There aren't any extras on the premium. Features are missing on the pro.
  10. Yep, and the ASX is primed to implode at the first insolvency. Hundreds of billions of dollars have been forcibly pumped into the share market through compulsory superannuation, artificially inflating share prices to the point that market capitalisation bears no resemblance to the underlying value of the company. One high-profile failure, with investors receiving a small fraction of what their shares were supposedly worth, is all it's going to take to expose the house of cards and investors (particularly foreign) will be running for the exits.
  11. That'd be @fridgejam
  12. Not a 'joke', but this is hilarious: https://www.smh.com.au/national/nsw/...24-p55ot7.html Reminds me of that episode of The Games where they discover that the 100 metre track is only 94 metres long.
  13. There's no problem here. Point three explicitly allows traps to be set "for the purpose of destroying vermin".
  14. Token 5 ball score. Factory settings, apart from being five ball.
  15. Yep, that was it. Swapped the coils and now working correctly. Thanks.
  16. In that case, there should be heaps of games getting listed to cash in, and games staying listed longer because they're not being bought. More likely it's because there's not much else to spend money on right now, so no one needs to sell their pins to fund other large purchases. International holidays- illegal. Renovations- risky. Starting a business- completely insane. And a lot of people who need cash to cover unexpected losses can pull it from superannuation, instead of having to sell stuff they want to keep. A pinball machine is a physical asset with an underlying value, so it's a much safer store of value right now than almost any asset other than gold. There's no real reason to sell a machine right now unless it's one that you actually don't like.
  17. The skill shot is triggered by switches on the wireforms. The effect of hitting the skill shot corresponds correctly with the wireform the ball ends up on, irrespective of the position of the diverter or the award highlighted on the DMD. I assume the game knows which way the diverter is set, because it moves the way it's supposed to (if it was set backwards, hitting the button would actuate the wrong coil and the diverter wouldn't move at all).
  18. I have a weird problem with the skill shot on my Shadow. The choice of skill shot award depends on which way the left diverter faces. Send the ball left, you get points, send it to the right to light a lock, start a mode etc. The problem is that the DMD shows the opposite i.e. if the diverter will send the ball to the right, the display highlights the points award and vice versa. I've tried taking the glass out and manually moving the diverter so that it's correct, and I've tried hitting the diverter button with the coin door open, which changes the DMD display without moving the diverter. In both cases, the machine reverts to the wrong display next time a ball is in the plunger lane. It doesn't affect gameplay, but it would be nice to have the display correct. It's been like this for as long as I've owned the game, so I don't know how it started. Anyone know what causes it?
  19. I've been playing a game called Do Not Feed The Monkeys. It's an unusual concept: you're a member of a secret club that has surveillance cameras all around the city to spy on people. You need to find out as much as possible about the people on camera without alerting them to the fact that you're watching (there are certain actions you can take to manipulate them, like ordering a meal to be delivered to their house). As well as monitoring the ever-increasing number of cameras, you need to manage your sleep, health and finances, so you have to decide which trade-offs to make so you don't miss anything important. It's not a real long game, but not bad for $20.
  20. Sell for cash (should always do this in any case) and then make small deposits over a couple of weeks.
  21. Which also means that fewer people are selling pins because they need the cash for something else.
  22. Anyone know whether you can actually buy beer at test matches now? I haven't been to one for years, but last time I went they only sold light beer (usually hawked as 'mid-strength').
  23. I don't understand why anyone would do this outside Final Battle. Once the trapped ball is the only one left on the playfield you have to release it, and the angle of the ramp will usually send it SDTM. It's not as if The Shadow's multiballs are particularly lucrative.
  24. What would you expect when tickets are so expensive? I just bought tickets for the Sydney test- $90 for seats that are in the sun for half the day (full shade starts at $135). With the majority of their income coming from broadcast rights, you'd think CA would be doing everything they can to provide the best pictures (and sound) for TV, and that means having the ground full. If they halved the prices and let kids in free they'd be providing their broadcasters with better service, and it probably wouldn't even cost them much in gate receipts because the higher attendance would cancel out the lower price.
