  1. HI all, Im in pretty sticky situation, I have a Addams family cab that needs to be moved from Concord to Granville before the end of the year as the rental of the storage room its in is ending,, now the tricky bit...I had planned to move it yesterday, had the van booked and a mate lined up to help, woke up yesterday morning not feeling great, took a covid test and POSITIVE F#ck.... and to top it off I go 'on the road' for work from next Wednesday (pending a neg covid test) for 6 weeks and will not be back in town until Feb. Is there anybody in the Sydney area that can help me out? Happy to pay a reasonable amount. Thanks Andrew
  2. HI all, About 12 months ago my Trusty Sony G500 Mulitsync monitor died, I have been using it in an arcade build to run MAME. it was working fine then there was a kind of high pitched squeal and the monitor went black, no pic. No smoke or burnt electronics smell. I assume its something to do with the high voltage part of the monitor. I have opened it up and had a look around, carefully as i know that the tube and associated caps can hold a charge. I have no experience with CRT's so I am reluctant to poke around too much. Is there anybody around the SE Qld arear (Ipswich) that would be willing to have a look at it? Any help would be appreciated Andrew
  3. HI all, I have what looks to be a factory original Addams Family Topper. There are some scratches, see photos and a smudge on one of the decals. The scratches are mainly on the top so not noticeable when mounted in place. Plastic is a little 'smokey' probably nothing some novis could not fix. A little peeling of the chimney decal but not any part containing the printing. On second inspertion there are some slight marks on the addams family decal, I guess inline with its age and it was a re-import. EDIT: There is a crack on the rear of the topper, not visible from the front, price dropped to reflect his $60 pp, would prefer pick up-Eastwood 2122
  4. Nope its a small complex of only 6 apartments, I'm number 6! Prowler delivered it here 6-7 years ago and i helped him carry it up the stairs (no trolley) something I swore I'd never to do again!! Therefore happy to pay somebody for their time and use of trolley, as long as they know what they are doing! I will be able to assist.
  5. Im hoping not to have to pull it apart but thanks for the advice. I'll have a look at how the headbox comes off the main cabinet. I have never removed a playfield before.
  6. Hi all since my original post my circumstances have changed and all I need now is for the machine to be moved from my Apartment to the same buildings storage room in the Basement, this will mean about 3 flights of stairs. Need somebody who know what they are going and have a trolley that can handle stairs, I will be able to assist. Happy to pay a reasonable amount in either cash or beer/spirits.
  7. HI all, I am moving house and need my Addams Family moved about 1.2kms to my new residence, in Concord NSW. Years ago I had Prowler move it from qld to its current location and I helped carry it up the 3 small flights of stairs, I promised myself I would never do that again!! Is there anybody local with experience, a vehicle and a trolley that can get this moved for me?
  8. Hi, today my trusty Sony 21" CPD G500 monitor seems to have died, it does not power up anymore. It was working fine earlier today then as some point it stopped displaying pics and will not turn back on. Normally I would have a go at fault finding and repairing but I know there is some nasty voltage hiding around crts. Its there anybody in the ipswich qld area that could have a look at it. I'd get rid of it however its in my mame arcade cab and the cab is built around it.
  9. Thanks have sent them an email. Anybody know where to source a coin door with an AU coin mech? I have had no luck and the closet I have come is this , even though it says Australia I suspect its a US site.
  10. looking further ahead in the build can anybody suggest an Glazier in Sydney that can supply the glass top at a reasonable price?
  11. Thanks, I thought I saw moon patrol in the list, my mistake, vertical mounted monitor it is!
  12. HI all, still after some advice re monitor. 19" seems to be what most have used, but do I mount the monitor vertically or horizontally?? Im using a 60in1 jamma board.
  13. Thanks femto, I see your location is Toowoomba, my home town! What suburb do you live in, I lived in the Rockville/Wilsonton area Welcombe ave.
  14. Made my first cut last night, so the project has officially started. Only made one cut as it was late at night and my garage is directly under another apartment :D My first problem is finding all the lumber in the correct sizes as quoted in the cut list. I have been to 2 different Bunnings and have not been able to find Pine in 25x25 or 19x51 or 25x51. Are these not standard cuts and are straight metric conversions of the original plans? Will post pics once I have something worthy of show...
  15. Hi all, I have decided to have a go at building a cocktail cabinet. I have built a full sized stand up mame cabinet in the past based on LuSID's plans (http://www.lusid.net/arcade/) so I have a little experience in building from scratch. Slight complication is I built the full sized cab in QLD where I had the room and tools for the project, this build if it goes ahead its going to have to happen in my garage in Sydney where space is tight and my tools are still in qld and will probably stay there...and on top of that its about to get crazy busy at work and I will be overseas from the end June for 3 months...so should be easy right! So this may be a long term project. I'm basing my build on Kyle Lindstrom's plans (http://arcadecontrols.com/arcade_cabinet_plans.shtml#Kyle_PacMan) modified and converted to metric by dezbaz (https://www.aussiearcade.com/archive/index.php/t-19957.html). It was going to be a mame cab but I have changed my mind and am now going to use a 60 in 1 jamma board. My first questions are: 1. Has anybody built this particular build before? 2. Is there any major draw back with this build/anything I should look out for? 3. What monitor did you/should I look at using. I would like to use a 19" ips LCD monitor mounted vertically. That should keep the weight and cost down. Any advice/tips you can offer me would be very much appreciated. Andrew
