Event Title: Australian Open Pinball Championships December 2023 Event Author: chopchop Calendar: Community Calendar Event Date: 30/11/23 05:00 PM to 03/12/23 08:09 PM In line with the US and UK Open Championships, the Australian version is to be held at Twin Towns Resorts, Tweed Heads, NSW from 30/11-3/12 2023. This will be a 3 day main event - 2 days of open unlimited qualifying using the 5 - game card system used in the US and UK, with the top 32 progressing to Sundays Finals. We anticipate over 30 games available for the event in our own private "River Room" at the base of the hotel. Side competition will include a warm-up Target Matchplay on the Thursday Night, a 3-strike knockout on the Friday night and a closing Flip Frenzy on the Sunday night for those that stay around. Twin Towns Sebel/Mantra resort has arranged 10% off all accommodation booked for the event. The resort is 1 street from Coolangatta beach and the tournament event is being held in the resort itself. Families are encouraged to attend for a pre-Christmas holiday! The location is only 7 minutes drive from Coolangatta Airport. The Event room itself has it's own bar and is linked by a walkway to the Twin Towns services club that has 7 restaurants, gaming rooms (that Pokies sadly), live music and show rooms (not sure who is on the schedule at the moment for that time). Link for the venue is here: https://www.twintowns.com.au/stay/ It is hoped this can become and annual event as is done in the UK and USA, and expanded to include Classic Events and even High Stakes if people are interested. Final details and pricing will be forthcoming. We have a great committee working on this so hope everyone has a great time!!! 9. The kids have decided they need a Dance Revolution Arcade game for the games room. Single or double player fine. thanks.
  10. I'll try to reduce the clips. Just wanted some variety but happy to accommodate feedback.

  13. Hello all, I assume this is the right place to post this? I've decided there is so much great stuff past and present in Australian Pinball that I'd try to spread the word. This podcast will interview people I've met, and some I've yet to meet, that contribute to the hobby we love. 3 episodes out so far, another 4 already recorded but yet to be edited and released. If you have suggestions for guests, ideas for inclusion, hate it or like it please let me know. Email contact is: aussiepinballpodcast@gmail.com You can find the podcast on The Pinball Network here: https://www.thepinballnetwork.net/e/off-the-record-pinball-podcast-ep-17-the-aussie-pinball-podcast-ep-2-jessy-jay/ Or google aussie pinball podcast.
  14. Right Emily and I are in for pinball (but may may make the whole 24 hours). Jessy Jay coming along as well!
  15. @Lambo will update shortly. Still worth coming though - 5 other competitions on at the around the same time!
  16. Thanks for pointing that out. I've added the Sep and Nov GCPC events (Oct didn't have the 8 minimum for inclusion). The final results table is just an audit of the data I provide Tim so doesn't give any additional info on events - just ratifies the spelling mistakes etc. This will be the final adjustment sorry. Just sneaking it in just in case but it's been up to organisers/players to review the spreadsheet link if they were interested.
  17. Final results are in for the 2021 qualifying Queensland Pinball Championships. Tim Chapman has kindly audited and cleaned up the results sheets for me - and I'm very grateful! This is the top 50. The top 48 will be invited to play in the event to be held at the Coomera Classic weekend. Saturday 9:30 start time ( see for details). We have 6 from FNQ playing and 2 of them are in the top 48, so that means the next 4 from outside also qualifies. This leaves the top 42 from SEQ making the cut. Of course, if some can not make the event, we will go down the standings to fill the 48 positions. Results are: Rank Old Rank Player Points Events 1 1 Jason Lambert 1170.93 40 2 3 Michael Dodt 1028.69 37 3 2 Gino Thimios 915.13 23 4 4 Scott Piper 669.12 40 5 5 Joe Wade 663.07 20 6 6 Nicolas Noben 632.48 20 7 7 Dane Stotschek 567.97 47 8 8 Dirk Booy 557.84 20 9 9 Farley Peter Jenkin 531.38 42 10 10 James Drury 512.53 44 11 16 Gordon MacMaster 510.70 47 12 12 Tyson Hargreaves 506.74 18 13 11 Rhys McHale 498.07 22 14 15 Matthew Broderick 476.01 29 15 13 Tom Fletcher 470.56 25 16 17 Kieran Brayden 467.58 45 17 14 Jimmy Nails 436.37 12 18 19 John Scolaro 435.49 13 19 18 Shane Redfern 434.15 49 20 21 Ben Piercy 427.39 28 21 20 Paul Ehrich 426.16 17 22 62 Mike Pascale 414.33 15 23 22 Dan Olejniczak 404.90 32 24 23 Rob Milla 393.99 13 25 25 Hugh Dickson 363.03 10 26 24 Grant Quinn 358.40 13 27 38 Tony Woods 355.79 23 28 44 Tony Kourakis 355.72 13 29 26 Michael Saunders 347.35 12 30 36 Zack Foster 346.46 15 31 27 Gary Eldershaw 334.95 17 32 28 Jason Lynch 333.14 17 33 29 Vaughan Jones 329.05 33 34 30 Belinda Clissold 326.78 17 35 31 Luke French 321.39 18 36 32 Jared Morgan 310.20 13 37 33 Chris Murphy 305.93 37 38 34 Chris Jennings 299.59 10 39 NA Robert Macauley 298.88 8 40 35 John Cosson 295.20 16 41 37 Chad Bolitho 281.70 47 42 39 Peter White 269.85 31 43 40 Chris Bancroft 256.58 19 44 41 Mark Robinson 246.51 13 45 42 David Stavleau 245.53 21 46 47 Stephen Bardell 241.12 56 47 43 Gareth Hughes 239.46 25 48 52 David Sanders 234.07 30 49 45 Curtis Sahariv 232.68 8 50 46 Michael Cannon 229.99 8 51 51 Nigel Coates 213.73 29 52 54 Kerrie McAloney 213.16 28 53 48 David Irving 211.57 27 54 78 Steven Riding 211.15 11 55 49 Tim Chapman 211.10 7 56 53 SHannon Paull 208.15 7 57 55 Keaton Jones 203.44 23 58 56 Jesse Holt 198.93 38 59 57 Phil Dudley 193.56 5 60 58 Gavin Drogemuller 190.11 20
  18. Managed to do what some other have done. Just purchased a second hand GNR LE so don't need the spot with Pinball Sales now. $1500 to me for the spot and I'll let Paul and Tiz know it's changed. $15350 to Pinball Sales in Melbourne late January when the game arrives. Might be the last change to grab a NIB for quite a while!
  19. This is where you need to stay on your nth Qld holiday! If you need a place to rent when in Townsville hit up Jason Lynch!
  20. A quick FYI. The legend that is @timmychap has reviewed the spreadsheet and will do a final audit after the close of results in December to "tidy up" any double entries etc. Initial review changes a couple of places in a minor way, but final audit will make sure all players that have qualified will be in their correct places. Final qualifiers will be shown by second week of January and displayed here.
