  1. Getting near to starting my vp cab. Im going all bells and whistles with pinup Popper but in your case I can highly recommend Pinball Y by mjr. Still looks polished and one of the easiest to setup. I played around with PinballY in a VM and really liked it compared to Pinball X. So much has changed in the last 3 months. As to Tron and the newly released Gaurdians...they do require more setup if not using 3 screens of 16:9 (ie DMD 16:9). The new releases are being set up for 3 screens. If youre using your same gear ...definitely try Pinball Y as it's not as resource hog as popper.

  2. The broken glass wouldn't be the problem - its just glass IF it hasn't interfered with the touchpanel underneath the black adhesive strip - hard to tell from the pic. That wiring might have been severed before? or do you think you did it? Your driver board is OK because it can be seen by Windows. Its definitely your touchscreen overlay / wiring. If the wire wasnt damaged before hand.

If you have a meter test for continuity on the resoldered wire. If thats OK then check the flat cable between drive board and touch screen - it my be protected by glue. Typically you buy the overlay with the flat ribbon cable. Diagnostic doesnt look good :(

Let us know how you go

    Cheers

  3. @ddstoys I know exactly what you mean.

Cant find the post on FB but the story goes something like this:

A ship is having problems in the engine room and they call in an engineer of years of experience. Engineer walks in taps a pipe with hammer - fixes problem. He bills them $5k for 5 minutes work - they are in disbelief. Engineer sates he's been work x amount of years and that's how he knows what the problem was.

Moral of the story - it may be an easy fix / repair in the eye of the customer who states they could have (tapped pipe with hammer in this story ) but they don't appreciate the training, experience and knowledge gained over the years.

In my case I find home users are the worst culprits (assistance with tech devices) who say its any easy fix / shouldn't take long and other comments along those lines. I have my set of questions and depending on answer I get a good idea if they want to pay for my "expertise". That idea is usually backed up as soon as tell them my charges....which is usually followed by something like "Oh I've got a son in the industry that can fix it" or "This guy only charges x amount" or that's extreme prices.

Learned my lesson with home customers (I do have some great home customers) a long time ago they want everything for nothing and don't appreciate the experience and knowledge that has taken years to get

  4. We bought a box mattress but from Sleep Republic. They have the same inherent design. Had it 4 years now. Same 100 sleep guarantee. These type of beds are generally medium firm but I think it may have changed to cater for softer. Great finish and very plush. No partner disturbance. I like how it is firm'ish but still soft. Any of these type of beds (latex) can get hot so wife got a bamboo (cooler) underlay, sheets and pillow cases which really worked well as 2 years ago we didnt have air con in bedroom. Not really necessary to have bamboo now. You should rotate the mattress every month - that's a pain because it's 60kg and the wife cant help me because we have a valance and have to have it perfect - you do notice the difference when you rotate. You really can't go wrong with sleep guarantee - I certainly wouldn't have hesitated in using it if I wasn't happy. HTH

  5. Ive to work it out in the next couple of days. Basically everything but the Pinscape AIO - nice bit of kit but bloody expensive and I'm not going to need all the outputs. He's thinking of making a Lite AIO but emailed me saying he doesn't know whether he'll go ahead I have the boards already but then I looked at German Gaming supplies has the stuff too but at half the postage cost but I'd like to get the fuse board.

  6. The perfectionist in me wonders what things would be like on a true 43" computer monitor running at 144hz but I don't feel like shelling out $2,400 for an Asus PG43UQ or something similar! Bang for buck, the Chiq U4310 was a good buy.

I Hear ya, the 43" market is flooded atm and will only get cheaper and better. You might be surprised by Chiq! I was talking to a local gamer and showed me his ubeaut 43" (LG) blah blah and was really disappointed compared to his old 40" TV (both 4k).

  7. @Railways Almost likely an issue with your phone - more the OS. I've dealt a little with a few different setups and this was quite common a couple of years ago. If I remember correctly, 6x and above was OK. More often than not, it was the car system. In your case I don't think it is because your wife's phone works OK. You could try resetting your phone (backup first) make sure you've got the latest updates. Feel free to PM

  9. Ill be honest...Im scared...not because of the media hype. Im an analytic person and The way I feel is that Australia in general Is quite laxed. I have a daughter that is there with the understanding but her boyfriend doesnt. Geez its hard yakka. Had the best nite talking about it all with my daughter. I have to say that narcissism is at its best with her boyfriend. After spending a week in supermarkets...Im depressed. Taking away y patriosm (bias)to NZ....and talking with family in NZ...far out ...they got in on. ANyway...ive never been beeen poltical but far out...IM F**** offf...Let some steam off tonite in a forum that I cant be seen (ie FB)...Rant over...cheers

  10. Unfortunately / fortunately I'm still working but the wife thinks I'm not so I've got a list of jobs that will last a lifetime. 1st of the rank - guttering. I repurposed a hose pressure "U" wand to fit the Gerni. Change the location of the hose which means digging. Tidy the shed - far out, I dont know where to start there.

  11. A couple of things to look at. I'm not sure if this cab has a USB dongle in the rear? Almost sounds like the RAM or Hard disk is causing the reset, just like a PC. Unless you've got a USB boot disk with the right utilities, best bet is to try another RAM and/or drive if you've got one handy. HTH
  12. Spent the day yesterday in 3 supermarkets (essential work). In one store, there was 90% (at a guess) NON compliance (ignoring lines marked on floor, groups of people having a chat in aisles. As I was waiting for some files to be copied (read boring), I counted the number of people coming through - of the 46 people entering, only 7, yes 7 people used the complimentary wipes. The conversations I heard were basically saying corona is nothing to worry about!. The other 2 stores were better - I guesstimate 60- 70% compliant and usage of complimentary wipes was about 80%. I know this is small sample size and some may argue but geeze, people just need to wake up and realise that the simple things will help. Obviously we need to be told and fined before people will listen. Ha, another thing, I take my own sanitiser and wash up to the elbows, then iso propyl all my gear and the work area, and the stares I get (I fake smile back lol). I come back home and do it all again. It's not perfect but it's TRYING - it's not rocket science.

  13. Changing the tone a bit, Being an Kiwi...vibes are positive in NZ, really positive. I have 86/87 year old parents doing well. My dad takes the dog for a walk (solo and allowed). No known ailments to both but mum does too much and the weather is harsh. They moved back from OZ 12 months ago - more family that can look after them. They get food drops from family and Dad just bought one of those motorised push biles LOL - he goes to the local "dairy" when no ones there. Anyway, just a nice story.
