if you're thinking of switching to PinballX I can definitely recommend it, I've had it running for a while now and it's far superior to HyperPin.
I still have HyperPin on my cab and can use the same .xml file for both, but honestly haven't had a need to run HperPin in a long time.
I have PinballX set up with 4 versions of VP; 9.2, 9.9, 9.9 physmod 2 and 9.9 physmod 5.
Using symlinker you can share the same set of media files for HyperPin and multiple versions of VP in PinballX.
Also, playing DMD videos in the attract mode is a really nice addition to the presentation of the cabinet, there are videos available on the PinballX ftp for either a real dmd or lcd dmd. The fpt is a great resource; plenty of people sharing unique pinball media.
