  1. I had heard of the game vaguely as a port to different consoles, but just kind of ignored it as another random basketball game. After just watching a video, realised this really is a predecessor of NBA Jam, very awesome bit of history!
  2. Got curious and tried to find out about the NSW thing - lots of discussions, but nothing concrete back to some specific regulation. Seems it might be to do with things only having a single pole relay in them? (timers also seem affected) Big discussion here: https://forums.whirlpool.net.au/archive/2539868
  3. That is a more complex profile than I was thinking 😲
  4. For isopropyl I was looking to stock up on some after going through around a litre in the last year on various projects... Could get 250ml for $15, 1 Litre for $30, or 5 Litres for $50... yeah, I went the value option, I've got an awful lot now!
  5. I don't, but I was considering how possible it would be to make them on a table saw
  6. Is this the kind of profile? I see some other wood rails were cut from round dowel, are these ones circular, or an odd rounded profile? (can't quite tell from these photos) This post on pinside describes a very different profile for a 1959 Gottlieb? https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/wood-side-rails#post-4273395
  7. After recently working through a restoration of an EM pinball cabinet, I can fully appreciate this process of filling, shrinking, sanding, filling, sanding etc etc!
  8. I've got the Jaycar ones, and love Engineer tools from Japan. The Jaycar ones work ok for me, but if I was buying now, I'd go the Engineer
  9. I think he's thinking of raster engraving, but vector engraving is also possible. Key difference is very similar to arcade monitors I guess - a raster monitor draws scan lines back and forth to draw the image, whereas a vector monitor only turns on the gun to draw lines and ultimately shapes. Most laser cutters can work in both modes - it's really the software that translates the images into the code to move the laser around that does all the work beforehand. https://www.troteclaser.com/en-au/learn-support/helpcenter/difference-between-raster-engraving-vector-engraving I would have the knowledge to create the vector image required for the laser cutter - but not necessarily the artistic ability to place all the parts in the right place... In theory if @Ballypinball was to provide the files we could look at translating, but I understand there's probably commercial considerations etc etc Perhaps at the end of this if @Insanity Falls wants to collaborate on opening up the design to the community I guess we can see where that lands (the actual coloured White Water artwork would clearly be copyright, but the etched falls if they were completely redrawn from scratch may not be?)
  10. Just throwing out ideas, would laser engraving be a possibility onto a thin-ish sheet of aluminium? (using your greatly devised angles!)
  11. Yep, I’ve got a couple of PLA posts in a game that are holding up well. I think it helps that it’s less brittle than some other plastics?
  12. Some info on 3d printing them here: https://lisy.dev/gtb-edge-connectors.html
