  1. I like Robocopy when I'm feeling lazy and want quick answers, I like the GUI for it when I'm even lazier http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/magazine/2006.11.utilityspotlight.aspx it will install Robocopy for the non-vista users. Unfortunatley it requires dot net framework for some reason - it was written by a MS employee.
  2. I nearly wet myself when I saw the Coleco vision goodies. I'd forgotton all about them, I actually had one, with the expansion thing etc. I gave it away, to a younger gamer, hope he gave it a good life. I haven't seen those controllers either, they look pr0!
  3. Thanks for the info guys, might have to load it up sometime.
  4. Guys, What is Mythbuntu like? Does it pass the WAT (Wide Acceptance Test for those new to the ball-and-chain effect)? We are using Vista Media Centre and the boss is reasonably happy, but seriously, it sucks a big one. Let me know your experiences with this dist - setup, use, etc. I am Linux tolorent (I run mail servers etc).
  5. The autoexec listed in your first post has the size as 1KB - ie, there is something in it. If you open it with something like notepad and it is empty, then you have surley suffered disk corruption. As I said before, you are missing a few files. I am not familiar with advmame but it may be possible to get this machine working by getting a copy of advmame, setup a new hard drive with a dos boot - try boot.disk.com for ideas, format x: /s may help you. You would need to load drivers for the sound through the config.sys file, which you are missing. You would then need to find out if there are any command line switches needed to run your Jamma board. My best suggestion, if you can't get joy from the manufacturer, or find someone with the same setup, let someone who has experience with dos based setups loose on it. Other than that, surely someone knows how to make mame work with the Jamma boards. Good luck. P.S. from your photos, the hard drive looks like a Quantum Fireball - yuck. If you get it up and runninf, clone it to CD.
  6. Hi metz, I am a computer tech and while not familiar with your setup, it looks as though it is meant to boot a version of DOS or PC DOS or something. If the files you listed are the only files on the drive then you are missing a few. Make sure you check for hidden and system files. Can you post the contents of the autoexec.bat file? It would be easiest if you contact the manufaturer and tell them your HDD failed, what do I do know? Did it come with any disks at all? Stuart
  7. When I grow up, I hope to be as tough as these guys. :loser:
  8. Thanks Brad. Not interested in CHDs Coolspot said there are like 25 dvds of roms - meant including CHDs I'm still good to put 4 copies out there then if people want them. (I used to get free blanks, still have some packs lying around)
  9. 11 DVDs! wow last set I got was on 3. That was some years back. Anyways... add me to the list please. I have an unopened pack of 50 dvds in front of me, I will put 4 copies into circulation. I am located in South East QLD. Thanks Stuart
