Hi Womble, Sorry that I didn't reply earlier and thanks for taking the time to reply. I have simply been madly busy.
So I will check on Friday (I don't have access to the machine until then) but I'll have to trace this back. It is only one wire I think.
Is the C board pin header visible in my pic of the jamma connector below?
Hi all,
I have a SF 2 World Warrior PCB and all the punch buttons work but none of the kicks.
I had the machine converted to MAME a while ago (DIY) and when I switch from JAMMA to PCB everything works(coin slots /joystick) but not the kick buttons.
I reset all dip switches to the default no test mode but that didnt fix it.
I do have a kick harness and it appears to be connected correctly..
Any help would be very much appreciated.
Thanks!
I have recieved a PM asking if I had any pics of the tallboy working. The only one I have is in my avatar. I assure you that the machine is working. As with all these things they do require some TLC but it definately works as both the stand-alone JAMMA and as MAME.
I moved into the CBD (Melbourne) and have to get rid of a bunch of stuff from our garage including this bad boy that provided years of entertainment.
Pick up at the South Melbourne only.
Regretful sale of :
1 working lowboy arcade machine from a fishshop in ballarat
1 original Street Fighter II World Warrior Board in working order
1 original Raiden 2 Board in working order
Working coin slot (Set to be bypassed by dipswitches I think)
JAMMA to PC Conversion kit pre-assembled and working
PC with MAME installed and connected to monitor and working
Complete MAME Catalog
Maybe some old speaker in the back. I can't recall but there is sound.
Working Original Monitor (You should probably replace it with a newer LCD)
$600 the lot
You can simply swap out the JAMMA conversion kit and plug in either the SF or Raiden boards and you have it all back to the original JAMMA. I used to do this regularly.
I am just glad that everytone who has helped me to get my mame machine running will now have a chance to beat me in games i have probably never played :-)
Ok these were all great tips.
I found that my default.cfg was missing keys for Player 2 buttons 1,2 and 3. I added them and deleted one which was duplicating the Player 1 Button 4 key.
Button 4 was also doubled up.
Very weird.
I fixed these and now everything is perfect.
Brad - i didnt have to delete mame.ini but great to know it can all be auto generated again.
My street fighter 1 (mame.exe sf) still doesnt have the Player 1 or 2 Button 3 working. (Small kick).
This is weird.
All up thanks so much for the help guys- it was spot on the money.
Brad - thanks again for the great tip.
It all works now except for
-P1 Button 4 doesnt work even though keymapping in winipac and mame is set to Shift.
-P2 Button 4 doesnt work even though keymapping in winipac and mame is set to W.
In winipac I can hit the l shift key and the correct button triggers (same for W).
Anymore advice?
Edit: Is there a way to completely reset the mame keymappings?
Ok, i admit it right - I dont use many games taht require all 6 buttons - but i cheecked a few out and all aare missing button presses.
So i check winipac gui and the key/button combo's are
Left controller
L Ctrl - L ALT - SPACE
L SHIFT - Z - X
Right controller
A - S - Q
W - I - K
which is default i believe.
So in mame.ini the /ctrl directory (or input) have no keymapping file i can find to stick these into it.
I know its a stimple thing - but i spent ages searching the folder and files to no avail.
what a space - i am so jealous.
i am starting to build (re-build after dismantling at my last place) a small studio - it should fit into your space 8 times over hahah.
Well done.
