      Hey Ben

are you pulling the trigger on this?

you keep tyre kicking with me for candy cabs that I’ve noticed in previous years…

      Let me know the outcome

      😂😂😂

  3. Finally have this all working with stable PSU voltages, all the caps have been replaced on the PSU and logic board with tantalum ones, sound is back, running perfectly! Fan was really noisy tried Sewing machine oil but just didn't work, so new low DB one should be here tomorrow, in the meantime stripped it down and gave it some retro brite treatment, disassembled the floppy and cleaned that. The SCSI still works so going to use my old G4 powerbook and Imation SuperDisk drive which I found in my storage to format some old software but did find a case of my old 1.44 Floppies so should be fun going through that.
  4. You can see the retro brite difference, how good to have this pumping from a dead machine. Like Apples to Bananas
  5. Well this baby came off the shelf been lot's of work. Recapped Analog board (which is also PSU) So got it working after a few minute boot up, voltages were all over the place, then would retsart So Optocoupler installed analog board all capped looking good
  6. I am embarking on a restoration of a MAC Classic which has been sitting on my shelf for lots of years, only just pulled it apart the other day luckily the lithium battery had not leaked. These MAC's are prone for shit analogue boards so got a heap of caps on order, the logic board still has the surface mounted caps intact but no doubt leaked and will replace them, will probably do a BlueSCSI if it all works. 7. Great to see this thread still pumping after all these years
  8. Any chance of postage to Tasmania?

    Cheers

      Hi Ben,

      What were you after?

      Thanks Scott.

  9. When you say work, like cosmetic ? or actually monitor work ? I see they have some funky voltage thing going on so not sure if that's what you mean ? Also I am ok to swap Joysticks and buttons to better ones if that's what you mean or wiring harness.
  10. Cool, Seems to be what I and a friend are after, apparently Highway don't offer freight costs, as previous freight company damaged too many shipments. Can anyone recommend the best way to get a couple of these down to Tassie please Cheers
  11. Thanks appreciate the feed back, what I would expect for a $400 cab, presume the buttons and joysticks could be changed out. Thanks again for replying
  12. I have been hunting a (Good) Astro Cab for 2 years now and still can't find one under $2000
  13. Do you know if these are slightly ok? Just looking at getting a couple been trying to get an ASTRO for years and just gave up, now have a mate getting into the hobby and thinking it may maybe a good entry 29" JAMMA and thinking of buying a couple.
