  1. Cheers Pat. Not all bad news for Jez, he seemed to be having an awesome day and was awarded a couple of beers for his efforts.
  2. @Lambo Just a thought, do you need to re word the first place prize in case Escher wins it? Don't want a 16 year old 'Murican bankrupting the BPC because he has to flown from the states. @chopchop Although, if we planned the wedding for around ACS, as the father of the bride you could probably foot the bill right?
  3. I'd vote for no warm ups on machines before rounds. I think someone, maybe Mr Nichols @nich2pat, did a rough breakdown of the time lost over a full day. Even with a conservative estimate of 2 minutes (30 seconds per player in a four player group) per machine it amounts to a lot of lost time. Add to that the number of people that seem to have a very warped idea of a half minute, plunging out remaining balls, restarting machines, etc.. There is plenty of time to be made up.
  4. @rusty_dagger Hey mate, sorry to come at you from another angle. Any room in the comp? Would love to come along, have asked the jebronis (mike and Rhys if either of them are keen too. No worries if not. Cheers.
  5. Hey Vaughan, Just a question regarding the prize structure for the Noosa Pinball Fest. Sorry if you or anyone else feels like this query should have been sent via pm but I think full transparency is the best policy as far as pinball finances are concerned. Just wondering how prize pools for the main comp were calculated, and, why the were finalised before ticket sales were even half way done (or maybe even before they commenced?). In my tournament experience the prize pool generally swells with participation, yet I saw a post on Facebook advertising 30 something tickets remaining but an already fixed first prize of $150. Completely fair enough if the prize pool is contributed to by sponsors and or yourself and all ticket proceeds go towards venue / maintenance and any other associated costs, just keen to try wrap my head around it all. Cheers mate, Gino
  6. Team comp is a side comp happening during Saturday afternoon during qualifying isn’t it?
  7. Clothes just like colours, do not indicate gender. Pretty accepting group though I reckon so if you want to wear a dress for comfort I reckon you should feel free to do so.
  8. You’re definitely right John and I shouldn’t have bitten. First time round I did try and point out the hypocrisy of asking for more organisation and structure as gently as possible and got a silly self entitled response. I’ll remove the analogy.
  9. Very impressive how quickly you were able to change my mind regarding your attendance.
  10. Whilst I agree that anyone below cut off should treat the opportunity as a bonus, surely everyone above the cut off still wants to play a tournament with the maximum number of participants (48) right? Interesting that RGR calls for a bit more organisation, earlier access to schedule, etc but surely one of those things would be a cut off date for confirmation of attendance? Just a little funny coming from the one player yet to confirm with Dan / Luke. For the record, I really hope you’re coming by the way. Love watching you play and always keen for the toughest match ups possible.
  11. Easy tiger. Using language like that toward someone responsible for organising this tournament you musn't be considering attending?
  12. @Hashman How bizarre. When I saw this thread come up yesterday I assumed it must have been started by the woman I met at Netherworld on Sunday for their 2nd birthday. Her name escapes me at the moment, far too many beers on Sunday to have retained many details but she was from Toowoomba and is very keen to get a regular tournament scene going. We talked about the pins at Spotted Cow (they’ve been missing from there for about 18 months) as I’d had a chance to play one or two games on them when in Toowoomba for work. Anyhow she had said that she was thinking for 2019 she might just have to get her act together and host regular meets at her place. I’m sure I can get her name from Jimmy Nails as my mate Mike coached her on Star Wars to achieve the Wizard Pin score so her name should be recorded somewhere. Edit: Michelle (Chelle)
