Hey Guys,
Thanks to Jomac, I finally got around to replacing the monitor chassis in a lowboy cabinet that had been unused for 10 years. The cabinet has what appears to be a genuine Capcom Final Fight game board and the game was playing fine before it went into hibernation.
Now that we've got it running again, it looks like the graphics and sprites are now corrupt. I've done a bit of research and a lot of faults seem to point back to the A board as the likely culprit. The sound is fine and you can play the game, but apart from the graphics issues, sometimes the player characters disappear behind background objects like buildings (if that makes sense).
Here's an example of the corruption
I've pulled apart all 3 boards and cleaned/reseated all the socketed IC's and ROMS, but the issue still exists.
Does what I describe sound like a repairable fault ?. Is it worth pursuing a repair or a replacement of the A board ?
Cheers,
Dave.
