  1. Nearly 5 years on, we cannot thank our current IFPA Australian State Reps for everything that they do to further and foster IFPA Competitions here in throughout the country. In case anyone is not aware, the current IFPA Australia State Reps are as follows: QLD - John Cosson NSW - Justin Withnell ACT - James Todd VIC - Ryan Cee SA - Greg Siegele WA - Brett Smith It is with great regret however, that following the recent ACS event in Perth, both Greg Siegele (SA) and Brett Smith (WA) have notified us of their intention to step down from their Representative duties. Please join us in congratulating Greg and Brett for all their hard work in growing the pinball communities in both states respectfully. With this in mind, we will need to organise for a new representative to take over the reins in both SA and WA in the near future. If you would like to nominate as a State representative for either South Australia or Western Australia, or would like to nominate one of your peers (ensure they know and agree), please email Jimmy and myself me at ausifpa@gmail.com. If there are a few nominees in each state, then it will go to a ballot for that state. Cut off date for nominations will be end of Sunday, 24th March (NSW/Vic time) With Tasmania now joining the fray and starting to run competitions of their own in last few weeks, we will also look at the idea of introducing a Tasmanian State Representative in the coming months as well. Jason Lambert & Jimmy Nails IFPA Australia Co-Country Directors
  2. And that's a wrap on the 2023-24 Australian Championship Series Tournament!! Congratulations to all 48 finalists on a stellar event, but in particular to first time ACS Champion Tom Casey from South Australia! Tom completed qualifying as the Number 1 seed and never looked back in the finals portion, playing some incredible pinball throughout Finals Sunday to stand on top of the summit at the end of the day. Special mention also needs to go out the rest of the Top 4, being Simon Peel as runner-up, Tony Cirillo in 3rd and Matthew Owen in 4th. All of you deserved your places on the podium after an amazing display and great scores across the day, which would have been more than enough to claim the win on any other day. In case you missed out on the qualifying and/or finals results, they can be viewed here - 2023-24 ACS Results ACS results have now been submitted to the IFPA for processing. With the ACS win, Tom now has the decision to make on whether he will claim the 2nd Australian spot for the IFPA19 World Championship in June. More news will be posted in the next couple of days! I'm sure everyone will join me in thanking the organisers of the West Coast Pinball Festival on being absolutely fantastic hosts of the 2023-24 Australian Championship Series Tournament. The entire weekend was an amazing spectacle and one of the must do events on the pinball calendar in this country. To Roy, Lance, Brett S, Brett P, Tammy P and all of the tireless volunteers, sponsors, pinball providers, technicians, and anyone else I have forgotten - congratulations on all the work that goes in to running a seamless event. Yes there were a couple of hiccups along the way, but all a learning process for future years. Thank you also for the amazing swag for all of the ACS competitors, something of which I think all players were incredibly grateful for (I know I was for sure). To Michael Bowyer and the incredible crew at Amusement Machine Distributors for once again being the major sponsor of the ACS, we cannot thank you enough for your contributions to competitive pinball in this country. Was great to have you in attendance and help present all 48 finalists with their Finalist Medallions, which was also a nice surprise for the competitors. Don't forget to hit up Michael @ AMD for your new Stern Pinball (or other arcade games for that matter!). The ACS was not the only event running in the last week in WA either - congratulations goes to all of the following event winners in the lead up and during the WCPF week/end: Yaboola Lands @ Planet Royale - Tom Casey WCPF Warm Up @ Planet Royale - Curtis Sahariv WCPF Friday Night Matchplay - James Drury WCPF Juniors Tournament - ??? WCPF Women's Tournament - Esther Ahronheim WCPF Flipp Off - Mark Baraldi WCPF Saturday Night - Gordon MacMaster WCPF Sunday Battle Royale - Kieran Braden Congratulations also goes to anyone who also picked up any of the Bounty awards during the free play sessions over the weekend as well. The medallions for those awards were also amazing! That just about concludes everything ACS related for the 2023-24 season. I would also just like to take a quick minute to say a big thank you to both Greg Siegele (SA State Rep) and Brett Smith (WA State Rep) who are both stepping down from State Rep duties after a number of years at the helm. Both gents have gone above and beyond in assisting and promoting competitive pinball in their states and it is great to see the position both states are now in as a result. And to Brett in particular - your last duty as WA State Rep was a big one, and you went out with a bang mate! Well done on a fantastic weekend. Stay tuned in the coming months in regards to news on the 2024-25 ACS event, which will be heading to Townsville in March 2025. Exciting things are coming - watch this space!! In the meantime, I hope everyone enjoyed the past weekend, safe travels to all and see you all again in the near future!! Jason Lambert IFPA Australia Co-Country Director.

Some States may also be hosting extra events either as a lead in, or during the Championship weekend (check www.ifpapinball.com/calendar for more info) Who will not only earn the right to call themselves a State Champion, but also earn their right to claim a spot at this year's ACS Tournament in Perth this Saturday?!?

  11. Emails have been sent to the Top 18 from 2023 this morning, plus a follow up PM on Facebook as well. Please note that emails were sent to the email that players have registered via the IFPA site. In case you were wondering the final positions for the 2023 calendar year, you can view this here - 2023 Australian Championship Series Standings
  12. We are now less than 2 weeks away from the annual State Championship events right around this country of ours. On Saturday 3rd Feb, not only will we crown 6 new State Champions, we will also have a clearer picture on who will get their invite to the 2023/24 ACS tournament in Perth, later this year. This year's ACS will be held as part of the West Coast Pinball Festival, and we have no doubt that the organisers have something special up their sleeve for the 48 players who make the cut. While we will have up to 30 spots up for grabs through the State Championships, one thing for certain is that the Top 18 points earners from the best 20 events in 2023 will already be eligible to receive their ACS invites, regardless of how the State Championship events play out. To those who are in the Top 18 positions from 2023, keep an eye out on your emails, as we will start sending out invitations from tomorrow (Monday 22nd Jan). Your invites will include an exclusive link and step by step instructions to book your ACS spot. When you receive your invitation, you will only have 1 week to register and get your payment in, otherwise we will start to move further down the list. State Championship Top 4 placegetters (or Top 6, depending on eligibility requirements) will receive their ACS invites within a few days of collating all results. Any questions, please don't hesitate to contact Jimmy or myself at ausifpa@gmail.com
  13. 2024 is now here, and we are just a little over 4 weeks away from crowning not only new IFPA State Champions, but also on the road to determine the 48 players who will battle it out for the Australian Championship. I have updated all State Championship locations and starting times in the first post of this thread. Qld, SA and Vic have met the yearly requirements and will all be running Top 24 finals, with Top 6 finalists to qualify for the ACS. The remaining states will be running Top 16 finals, with the Top 4 finalists to qualify for ACS. As a reminder, all State finals are being run on the same day across the country, so players will only be able to play in one State Championship. For finer details, including machine lists, entry costs and other events across each State Championship weekend, please contact your IFPA State Representative.
  14. We are just waiting for the final QLD event to be submitted to the IFPA and then I can start sending out invitations to the 2023 QLD Invitational event. I'll be sending out PMs or Emails to those that I have contact details for, otherwise I'll be forwarding through your local TDs to confirm. The full schedule for the weekend will be as follows: Friday 2nd Feb: 6.30pm - 4 Hour Flip Frenzy - $25 entry Saturday 3rd Feb: 10am - 2023 IFPA QLD State Championship begins - $10 entry 11am - 3 or 4 Strikes side comp - $10 entry 7pm - 2023 QLD Invitational qualifying rounds begin (3-4 rounds) - $40 entry Sunday 4th Feb: 10am - 2023 QLD Invitational qualifying rounds continue. Top 24 player finals commence after qualifying completed. The location for this year's event is The Clubhouse, which can be found on Koala Rd at Moorooka. All events will be pay at the door (cash only please - no ATM facilities on site). If players could confirm their attendance to the Invitational by no later than Saturday 27th January, 2024, that will be greatly appreciated.
  15. Better late than never! The show rolls on! After an exhaustive search, numerous meetings and discussions, BPAC dates are finally here! In 2024, we are relocating to our new home at The Clubhouse @ Moorooka. Join us from July 17-21, 2024 and get ready for a big 5-day celebration of all things Pinball, Arcade and more. While we do have a shorter main event schedule on tap next year, there are other warm up and cool down events in the pipeline for those wishing to extend their stay. We would also like to take this opportunity to thank our previous hosts Brewdog DogTap @ Murarrie for their fantastic support and everything they have allowed us to do over the last 3 and a bit most enjoyable years. Stay tuned to our socials over the next few months for event updates, including timetables, ticketing, and more! #BPAC #BPAC2024 #Pinball #Arcade #Kong #BrisbaneMasters #BPACisLife #Moorooka Web: Brisbane Pinball & Arcade Collective gday@bnepac.org
