  1. You seldom get a part number or model number , probably to do with copyright and appropriated technology
  2. They cost $15 and for that price I guess you can't expect too much
  3. Anyone who has looked at this PF may have noticed the text is back to front. This is because of the image being mirrored , easy to deal with on the vertical axis not so much on the horizontal. This monitor is the fed from the main Playfield display so editing the videos to suit won't do the trick and I am not going to amend one hundred + videos just for this. Most monitors have a menu option to flip this around, but not a 3 inch monitor lamentably. As a work around I pulled this little thing apart and flipped the LCD screen over. That sounds pretty easy...It's not
  4. Well we'll see I guess I am about to make a production ready version of the Pinfest skill tester. So a repeatable Cad / art / electronics / wiring loom /cabinet (custom) If it pleases the court I will log expenses for this endeavour. But if I can't do it for under 3.5k in parts it won't be viable.
  5. https://youtu.be/2QrV9Yn-bCA?si=eIFHGlgrRiyRft2Z Sub ether playfield So here is the layout and look of this thing. This video was filmed from the Playfield monitor with my phone and gets the point across ok , it looks pretty bloody good in the flesh. https://youtu.be/mjqpsIFFbvk?si=pjZa-SpjJevsnuu-
  6. I don't know what I'm doing half the time either mate ; )
  7. The Playfield is not the black mirror there is another sheet over the top which is used for video reflection and to make sure the balls don't hop out of the Playfield ( which they most certainly want to do ). The tinted sheet is cut out to sit flat over everything , there is no physical connection , it can be removed with everything including the flipper bats in place - So no distortion issues. As far as the sharpness of the inserts bear in mind this is being looked at from a single aspect via a camera. You'll notice the arrows are right triangles because of the camera distortion ( fish eye ) at the distances involved. This is just another unexpected thing I had to amend. This whole thing is juggling act of lighting , focus , aspect , saturation, contrast and speed...a pain infact
  8. So this is the cured test with PVA, nice diffusion but the shrinkage is too much to deal with. This was a second test with hot glue much easier and quicker and a lot more diffusion. This is the final look with the tint overlay, I think we have a winner
  9. Taking something of a calculated risk today with the arrow inserts. I have blocked off the lower half of the cutout with some poly foam and have filled up the top with wood glue.So they are white right now and I am very curious how they are going to look when they dry. Note these are covered by a tinted polycarbonate so they don't have to be perfectly flat. I'll post another picture when they dry with some light behind them.
  10. Some progress on the sub - ether Playfield. It annoys me how much procrastination was invested in this task. It was a little annoying but only a little. Lighting arrow inserts cut for the 6 loop shots. Holes for the 5 X standup target inserts. 2 X new bar posts 5 X new Targets installed. 6 X ferris metal proximity sensors installed and tested. 2 X new flipper surrounds/ball guides These will all be covered with a tinted sheet of polycarbonate to make the Playfield perfectly flat, whilst also making the surface a black mirror.
  11. Tumbleweed lives at a friend's place in Uralla at the moment and this weekend I visited with some goodies. Out with the old dot matrix and in with a LCD screen. https://youtu.be/C_kb40mBRWE?si=ZT-2WFKIZixKVG3d
  12. The Sub-Ether Playfield got some love today. The previous version was scrapped for parts and a new smaller version with more shots and features made. First step was get the image transfer sorted, this is a juggling act of light and angles as it requires an analogue camera to make it flip in real time without flipper lag. Also the holographic monitor installed and displaying a test image In a nut shell. 5 x standup targets. 6 x discrete lane shots using optical refection triggering. 1 X centre spinning platter under the holographic image. 2 X ball multiball. The unit will have 6 modes available to complete https://youtu.be/1QKoAU1A1-g?si=isERXv6oWGhclQqD
  13. There are some things about this game you can't see unless you are standing Infront of it. One of those things are the 'Infinity Inserts' based on the classic infinity mirror which has been used pretty widely in pinball in the past but not on this scale ; ) https://youtube.com/shorts/ClAnzmsDgkI?si=8GQi6iLw_zh6XvQv
  14. Here's a playfield view of the trap snatching the ball - https://youtu.be/m6OM6KMe-2g?si=SAlXXz9zhl7FXBIq
  15. So ok , it works! 10 valid shots 10 captures https://youtu.be/vtlk-qaWkHQ?si=crVX8AhtNDF2AOok
