  1. Thank you to everyone but on homepins advice I think I will leave the forum for now because my limited participation (or lurking as it was put) it 'actively discouraged' by this site and I don't want to step on anyones toes or piss anyone off so have just requested that a mod delete my account, thank you to all the offers but your spares might be better kept for active participants and not myself. Best regards
  2. No longer looking on here thank you for your time.
  3. Please let me know if you come across any more namco solenoids with the slide mech as I have been looking for one or two of them for a long time for a aimtrak project that is on hold, sad to see I missed out especially seeing the excellent price you let the lot go for. Best of luck with the rest of the sale. :)
  4. Im pretty close just curious how much you're after for it? Edit; Just noticed your not the original poster which has confused me, and are you talking about Cheltenham NSW or VIC?
  5. Can a mod please change this thread to closed. Thank you Can a mod please change this thread to closed. Thank you
  6. Yeah +1, use the manufactures diagnostics tools, and Im really not sure why the others advise to use a generic "linux live CD" which IMO is next to useless..LOL.. use something like HIRENS boot disk so you have the option of a WinXP live, & the Linux live boot and ALSO it already has all the relevant hardware testing tools easily rolled into one (as well as has a few of the actual manufactures diagnostics tools" built in..) and its only 230~mb so ur not wasting ur downloads. IF you start the computer with the SATA drive in, and then simply BOOT TO THE BIOS. If the disk does not show then and there, there will be NO point downloading a 'linux live CD' or any "diagnostic tools" etc for that matter, if your system doesnt see it in the bios then no point going much further than that... Also I dont think anyone else mentioned.. Also try to use the HDD on its SIDE (vertically) instead of the normal flat/horizontal orientation since this sometimes will help with a failing disk although probably wont help but it does sometimes. But do check if it shows up in bios its highly possible if its not there then your HDD controller board (the PCB) is likely fudged and then beside the fact that you could {possibly} swap the PCB over with an identical replacement one to get it working again, no amount of other PC magicry like freezing, tapping orientation etc, will help bring it back to life if that PCB has failed.
  7. I kinda went overboard and bought a bunch of G&W's and dont know what to do with them since I dont really need [yet] another collection of oddities to start building up, so decided its best to part with the ones not so dear to my heart. I just though others here might appreciate them much more than myself maybe a chrissy prezzy to yourself =) hehe I will include 2x brand new LR43 batteries with them as well so you can re-live those nostalgic moments straight away. Postage should be about $10 for registered aus wide [id prefer registered but its up to you] Ball takes a different battery I think so CAN NOT supply that one. Pickup also welcome from HAWKESBURY area. Firstly HERE ARE THE PICTURES. If you want any other pics or info just ask im not really an actual 'collector' of these games so its likely ill miss something. BALL [Club nintendo 2009 re-release] $40 + postage Box is VERY GOOD [TO] EXCELLENT, it does have a few TINY & barely noticable marks on it, everything else is AS-New & complete with everything it came with originally except just missing the batteries. FIRE $70 + Postage Box is tatty, has a name written on the front with blue pen ['Paul Jones' I think], Box is missing the 2x tabs on one side but does have both tabs on the other side. Instruction manual included. serial number excellent and intact [#13997450]. Stand present but has been previously BENT out of shape, still works fine & could even replace with another one easy enough. Original foam tray present. console looks VERY-GOOD overall but does have a few small marks around the alarm & ACL button.. Nice dark LCD, sound works fine, all buttons work fine. Fire Attack $90+Postage Box overall in Good condition, [worst damage is pictured on the corner] also has what appears to be the original price tag removed from the back which has caused the tear in the back of the box graphics =(. everything else good to very good, console is used & does have some LIGHT marks on it around the ALARM burron and overall just very light marks from use. Complete with foam tray, & instructions and also the pink slip with the button controls. Stand is in good condition, serial number is good and present [#15594222], also has a serial number printed on inside of box. Nice dark LCD, sound works fine, all buttons work fine. Octopus $90 + Postage Box is VERY GOOD with light shelf wear, complete with foam tray (has one little chip in it please see pics), console is VERY GOOD with what looks like VERY LIGHT, RARE use only, serial number is [#12199301] Nice dark LCD, sound works fine, all buttons work fine stand is good.
  8. Gday Halo, sorry no it isnt. Can a mod please change this threat to SOLD.. Thanks =)
  9. Thanks for the bump :-) From what I was told this station was apparently very rarely used, my uncle has had it for the last ~20 years or so and used it sparingly himself (he has another 4 or 5 other irons), and he only received it because telecom had gone to 'no solder' (many, many years ago well BEFORE they were sold and well before being called Telstra) so from what he tells me for the most part telstra was never using it either. The official royel 'outlet' at wetheral park was where I got my spare tips etc, they confirm what you have said that 'the guy that started ROYEL was 100% all 'about quality' and they actually said 'these older stations actually have a 'STRONGEER' pump than the newer 'ROYEL' stations, so you might be right about just needing some more tips to get the most out of it, I only have 2x 1.0?mm i think and also a .3? i think i got, which ive found USELESS and way too small for anything Ive tried with it..lol Well thanks again for the bump.. Im amazed you have so many tips :o
  10. Hey guys I wonder if there is any love for my older Aussie ROYEL Soldering/Desoldering station. This actually came from a 'Telecom' tech department years ago, honestly it would be great for someone that just needs a basic unit for someone like a BEGINNER to get started with or get a few smaller jobs done [or] I was even thinking maybe give it to one of the kids to keep them off your good equipment (and so they can learn on since it would be perfect for a kid to learn with..) The soldering iron works fine, the desoldering iron works OK for the most part, it seems fine for some jobs but the pump does often struggle to suck solder from through hole's [iF] the components lead takes up the majority of the hole (like if there are no gaps between the component leg and the hole because its a perfect fit it can really struggle, sometimes wont suck it out at all) I think this is just due to age and im pretty sure that anyone willing could swap the diaphragm pump out for a new chinese one from ebay, they cost about $30 or so. [Just being honest here this unit is OLD and it DOES NOT preform like a NEW unit] Only asking $50, and recently spend about $30-$40 (about 7-8months ago) on spare filters/tips so IMO it is a bargain. @ $50 I am really not trying to make any money here, but at the same time i dont want to give it away for nothing. It is a nice unit albeit quite retro, im sure someone can find a good home & good use for it. Im located near Windsor pickup welcome or can post aus wide (post will be $20 max). If no interest it will just go to flea-bay. Cheers
  11. here ya go...lol http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/sydney-region/other-computers-software/arcade-machine/1006122626
  12. I would say whoever you got the laptop off has replaced the wireless with another card so thats maybe why your having issues.. Probably also why there are no drivers for it on the dell site. I guess you might have to try a few different versions of the software (look for older versions) also try to not install the intel manager just extract the drivers and then install them manually using the device manager and pointing it to the extracted folder.. try the FN+F2 coz it might just be 'turned off' (but still has the drivers installed).. I think you can look for 'old drivers' with the intel site so you just might have to try whatever you can find for that card until you can find one that works. - - - Updated - - - another thing i just thought is if you havent already maybe upgrading to SP3 might also helo (especially if you are only Sp1)
  13. :021::021: Sorry mate well im not helping much. On a side note i looked at the DELL drivers page and its interesting that they dont even have any intel drivers at all. They have this wirelerss driver marked as "URGENT".. http://www.dell.com/support/drivers/au/en/aubsd1/Product/inspiron-8500 - - - Updated - - - OK LINK Try to turn it on maybe?? (sorry if you already did but its all i can think right now)
  14. Did you still try to run the intel driver download thingo?, and fail that do the other thing i said and uninstall whatever driver you have there and get the one from intel website and install that instead.? try this one from intel for XP and see if that works. KRUMM is right but you can tell if you Double-click your adapter’s icon in the system tray. Click Properties.EDIT:(or it might say "CHANGE advanced settings") Click the Wireless Networks tab. Check or check if the "Use Windows to configure my wireless network settings option" is enabled or disabled... I still think you probably have the wrong driver, maybe you got the vista one instead of XP.. p.s. One question does your laptop have a 'switch' or 'button' to turn the wifi on/off (if so which is it switch or button)...? (EDIT: intel XP driver link): http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=11918&ProdId=944&lang=eng&OSVersion=Windows%20XP%20%20Professional*&DownloadType= - - - Updated - - - also is your SSID hidden that might do it
