Is there a glow in the tube neck..? If its a 'hot' tube and it glows it would suggest that its hooked up correctly and possibly the tube is rooted.. Otherwise you will have to double check all again..

Good luck.

It's probably not the problem but have you tried the screen voltage adjustment on the eht, just that I have seen a dead tube?? but it just had the screen voltage turned right down, hope it's something simple it can be frustrating when shit like this happens when you think you are close to a finish. Good luck with it

On the side ot the eht there is two adjsutments, one is focus the other is screen voltage, if you turn the screen voltage right up and the tube doesn't go white with trace lines through it you have dramas for sure,

Looks like spacies can type faster than me:lol

An other way of checking the tube is dead or not is Monitor Rejuvenation. That way you can check the strenth of the colour guns in the tube.

I have done that a few times with limited success when i wanted to save a tube.

It is a simply process.

But u will need to take it to an arcade tech that has the equipment.

I can lead you in that direction.

This is what happens...when you turn the cabinet on, the screens makes that....turning on a tv noise...i think it's the flyback firing up...and it doesnt appear to fire up the tube. It repeats that every 2 or 3 seconds...and just keeps doing it.

Any advice would be welcomed :

Hi Stu ,

What you are hearing is the chassis trying to start and then going in overload protection mode , so something is wrong , adjusting the screen or any other control wont make any difference , you wont be able to measure any running voltages or see the tube glowing.

So you need to find out if the chassis is faulty or tube.

First Cut the 4 pin Yoke plug in half , leave the Red and Blue connected and switch on , if you still hear the clicking sound like it is trying to start up over and over , switch off and connect other half of yoke plug and this time leave the red and blue off , switch on again if still doing the same thing connect the other half of the yoke back on so all 4 wires are connected again and this time remove the neck board from the tube , make sure it is not touching anything and switch on again , if you are still hearing the same sound then you have a faulty chassis , I assume it would be under warranty so send it back for replacement .

Keep in mind when ordering these chassis for any cab dont assume the tube is original , it could have been changed and not compatible with the chassis you are ordering so always note the brand and part number on the Tube when ordering .
