Mr Pinball remaking old pinnies??

Recommended Posts

hey guys, just got this email from Mr Pinball.....

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Please indicate your interest in Cactus Canyon or Medieval Madness Remake.

Max $5,000 US each, even less if we meet our target limited to only 1,000 games

Cactus canyon with Bally Logos.

Medieval will be without the Williams Logos.

Pre orders coming soon, Members will have 2 weeks before the rest of the public can order.

Regards

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

what do you make of this? Mr Pinball's that Aussie bloke that supposedly is going to make that Croc hunter pinny. A medievel without logos would just seem so non-genuine :unsure

Ok then............ are you sure it is $187.00, it could be $187.88. :unsure :p

Nope, $187 even ;) I can clearly see a difference between the 0's with a line through them and 8's with a line through then... ANYWAYYYYYY :D

call me a cynic

we have seen nothing from either the Pinball Factory (croc hunter) or IPB (BBB)

However if he is looking at 1000 units of pre-order before manufacture you have to consider that he will be taking deposits.

assume a 50% deposit - US$2500

multiply by 1000 - US$2,500 000

now even on a 5% interest rate he will be making US$125,000 per annum while eveyone eagerly awaits the machines. The longer the delay the more he makes.

whilst US$5000 is a high price (which will be AU$7444, becuase he is going to add the 10% GST onto the price) I would not be putting ANY cash down until I see one product that has been made by him.

we wait and see

Ric

What type of pig rootin , banjo playing goose would someone have to be to hand over ANY cash to a guy that has not done ANYTHING for years and made promise after promise of nothing but hot air. I SERIOUSLY doubt that ANYONE that has ANY idea of what's been going on in this ( his ) industry will give him a deposit- I certainly bloody wouldn't- he might be better off in 2nd hand car sales, real estate sales or getting a job for Demtel!:p :p :p

I cant believe that some ( seemingly decent and seemingly knowledgable ) people in this "hobby" still give this guy any credit

i dont have any real opinions either way about mrpinball but would prefer if wayne or anyone else produced new pinballs with new themes and original artwork, rather than remake MM CC etc

parts yes, complete machines no (theyve already been done :badgrin )

would be good to see another pinball that isnt licensed to a movie, rock band etc but is made purely as a pinball for gameplay and original artwork with no licensing restrictions

on another note with the price change on his webpage, went into the source code of his page and copied this code with price from what it was marked down from

<td><span class="was_price">AUD $187.00</span></td>

I agree with Jeff about new machines. But I guess remaking known top

selling machine guarantees profit. MM is still out on locations earning

good $$. I a sure lots of collectors would also buy a NIB MM.

Any competition to the badly made stern is a good thing

should be interesting to see what sort of time frame we are talking about here.

$5000 US each will bring the price down of the original ones but without the logos hmmm.

I do hope Wayne does make these. Good Luck to him.

I have had 3 MM in 6 container loads of pinballs and I keep asking for more so thats 3 out of 210.

I dare say id invest in 3 90's pins for 5k rather than a NIB MM. Ive got quite a few on the wishlist and MM isnt one of them. Will be very interesting to see how this all pans out though

Gents,

I find it hard to understand why anyone wants to complain about what Wayne is trying to do - for F sake do you want only one manufacture in the business that has the market all to themselves???

I have dealt with Wayne for years and always found him helpful - yes he makes money thats why he is in business!!!!!

I talked at lenght to him the other day - re hold ups etc and without going into details understand where some of the issues are "business is not as simple as some think". Whilst I am not likely to by CH I hope it does see the light of day and gets in the face of Stern "and for that matter some of the Yanks that have been sitting on Liences and dealing outside them for year". If it is a sucess then we can only hope another will follow.....

Just my 2 cents - and NO im in no way associated with wayne..............

Cheers...........

Darren
