Any available for a Pinball inspection on Gold Coast?

Hi all!

I don't know how willing anyone is to do this but there is a pinny up for sale in Qld (Gold Coast) that I am very keen on, but I am in Adelaide.

Should I just let it go or would there be someone in the area that might be able to check it out for me. I'd be concerned initially that it may not be as 'perfect' as it appears but also not sure about the payment method or whether it would be packed correctly or not.

Any suggestions?

Cheers

You really should personally inspect everything you buy. Someones idea of great may be your idea of crap and vice versa. Why don't you buy locally? I gave you a lead on that Star Wars pinnie. What happened with that? Another member in Adelaide (bretty33) is selling 2 pinnies at the moment I think (The Shadow and Tales from the Crypt). What are you after? Is the machine in Queensland that rare?

Lots of questions :)

Why don't I buy locally? I'd love too!! Now that I know a few guys here I could get their advice also which would be fantastic. Unfortunately I only know of 1 Data East Star Wars for sale in Adelaide and that one is at Amusement Worx, looking to get one in a bit better condition.

The Shadow pinny that Brett is selling looks good, and rates well for gameplay, but not really on the look out for that machine...at the moment. :)

The machine in QLD isn't that rare I guess, but machines that look as good as this one in the shots are probably not that common. I guess I will just be patient and wait for something to turn up in Adelaide that is in my price range for the condition. I mean I don't mind spending money to do it up provided that the buying price is fair given that they need work.

Hi Chris,

I'd go and have a look but I'm away this weekend.. Any other time would be fine.. I've even looked at a machine in QLD for Creech, and pretty much told him that it was not worth the money.

:unsure

So actually, others opinions can be constructive, particularly if they can be fussy bastards like me. It really does come down to Price v's Condition though, and if your willing to balance that aspect it can be worth while. Previously I've also collected and packed / delivered a pin for a fellow member in Adelaide, so its not impossible.

G'day Woka. Yeah I would just like to add that if your findings came back positive, I still would have hopped on a plane to view it myself before making the final decision. I just wanted to gauge if it was worth anywhere near the money they were asking and you seem to have good judgement in this area.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I really value everyones opinion and yeah it is great to buy locally and you always take the risk when buying from interstate.

One of my biggest concerns is when ebay listings don't accept payments which are protected by ebay..eg paypal. So really it would be a matter of transferring a few $K into their a/c and hoping that they come through....a bit too scarey for me in the end I guess. :(

Paypal is not a good option for sellers as they slug you a fee when withdrawing funds over a certain amount. I remember getting paid for my Cue Ball Wizard through PayPal because I stupidly had it as a payment option on my auction and I got slugged something like $90 for the privilege of withdrawing my own money.

No fees for drawing money out, it is when you get paid the fees come out. unless it is under $100 bucks or something like that.

Hey Gav!

That would be awesome thanks for the offer mate. It would be good to organise transport with someone on the forum rather than rely on the seller who could choose any old dodgy transport company.
