Use Wireless Xbox 360 Controllers on your PC

Recommended Posts

Found this today, for me it will allow me to use the XBOX 360 force feedback driving wheel on a pc.

I was planning my cabinet to solely run using a 360 but now I can also have a pc connected and run some of my other great racing games:

Doesn't look like it's available in OZ yet.

The Xbox 360 Wireless Gaming Receiver for Windows lets you take your quality, wireless gaming experiences that you enjoy on your console and experience them on your Windows gaming platform.

* Will work with future Xbox 360 Wireless Accessories.

* Provides up to a 30-foot range for complete wireless freedom.

* Use up to four Wireless Controllers and four Wireless Headsets simultaneously with one Wireless Gaming Receiver.

* Easily integrates with PC gaming scenarios and utilizes the same binding technology as Xbox 360.

* Provides a great value by eliminating the need for additional accessories for Windows-based gaming at an attractive price point.

* Plugs into a PC USB port and has a six foot cable.

* Future drivers available for Windows Vista™ and Force Feedback for the Wireless Racing Wheel.

They are available in Australia - I bought one from DSE 3 months ago! You can buy one with an extra controller for $10 more than what the controller costs. I've seen them at both DSE and HN in the last week.

The receriever alone will set you back about AU$30 and the receiver with a controller will set you back about AU$90.

Cheers,

  • 2 years later...

I just bought one of these - Xbox 360? Wireless Gaming Receiver for Windows - from here: http://www.gadgetgear.com.au/xbox-360-crossfire-wireless-gaming-receiver-for-windows-p-3976.html for use with my Xbox 360 wireless controller I bought from member Baker (thanks).

It had a few spelling mistakes on the back of the packaging which caused me some initial concern... (it is made in China :) such as :

- Works with current and futuer Xbox 360...

- Uses intgrated...

I am using Windows7. The driver disc didn't work for me. I had to download software from Microsoft here: http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/download/DownloadResult.aspx?category=Gaming&type=Gaming&name=JR9-00001&os=Win7_32&lang=en and then follow these instructions here: http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en/w7hardware/thread/bcd06b29-f3a9-4fa5-b086-364332485d0c to get it to work.

The controller then appears in the normal game controllers list.

I fired up ZNES to try it out and it works great! Very happy.

Noski.

Yup, I've got one as well (I've got the original Microsoft one though, that looks like it was the DealExtreme ripoff version, works the same though), it works bloody well doesn't it!!
