Karous by Milestone on Dreamcast

Recommended Posts

Who's got it? What's it like? Is it better than Radilgy? Should I buy it?

I want to support people who make new Dreamcast games, but Radilgy for me was the biggest DC disappointment since Trizeal. Is Karous completely different? Or is it a similar engine and play style?

Somebody review the sucker when they get it please!

its pretty much the same game but has a leveling system where you level either your gun, sword or sheild. Im not a big fan of them either but they are still fun just not at the level of a shikigami or cave shooter. i would say its a tad better then radirgy but nothing special i like the art more.

I definitely agree on the artwork. It's great to look at.

Yeah, I was afraid it was going to be "more of the same". I don't have the cash at the moment to go nuts on games, and as much as I want to buy it just to support them, I can't justify it right now if I'm not going to enjoy it as much as I am Trigger Heart Exelica.

It looks like Milestone are releasing GD-ROMs slowly to stagger sales. Hopefully it'll still be for sale in 6 months or more and I can grab it then.

I'm saving my pennies for the late march release of Hokuto no Ken on PS2.

yeah fist of the north star is probably the top of my wanted games list also, I havent played it as of yet though. I have seen people play it and it looks awesome but what do you expect from the people who made guilty gear. Back to the subject I would defenatly say it isnt on the same quality level as trigger heart but it is the final dc game and probably worth it just for a collectors item.

Heh... it's probably almost worthy of "investment" status these days. I'm sure anyone who's still sitting on a Saturn copy of RSG is laughing hard right now.

Maybe I should buy it and leave it in the shrink wrap just to sell it mint in 10 years time for 100 times the value. :p

If you are after the RSG equivalent for DC then i think the boat has already sailed in the form of Border Down LE.

See! That's another shmup I just don't get.

Maybe there's something wrong with me? Why is it that I can just never catch on to popular things?

Very acquired taste. Dont worry, i didnt like it until i spent AGES getting into it, then I sold both the LE version (got $130USD for it) as well as the Naomi version and now i miss it very much :cry ; testament to how good it is.

There are only a few games that i regretted selling, Border Down was one of them.
