Shock_And_Awe
Hi guys, I use mamewah as my frontend but really not sure on the operations of it. I'd like to set up my own custom list so I'm not scrolling through 5000 games everytime, does anyone use mamewah and have any idea on how to do this? I am sure it is very simple but I just don't know what keys do what. Thanks, Mark.
Viper
Haven't had my cab for a while but from memory it's something like: -In your main list highlight the game you want to add to your custom list -hit player 2 start to get the menu -if there isn't an option to add to custom list go to the custom list option and it should be in there -select that option with 1 player start -select the list you want to add it to and hit one player start, it'll tell you the game is added -done, now do the same with the other games you want to add. I don't know if there is a way to do this with a specific file rather than in Mamewah itself, never bothered to check as it is so easy in Mamewah I've probably got it ass about but it is that simple, just need the correct menu/option. I had a main list, a favourite list and then seperate lists for 3 and 4 player games (I had a 4 player CP).
elvis
I'm not infront of my cab at the moment, but that's about right. MAMEWah has a favourites list which is pretty easy to add to. It's all covered in the docs on the MAMEWah website. It might pay to read through them again.
Shock_And_Awe
thanks for that. It is ok to add to a list but how do you make a list to add to? There are 2 default lists "all games" and "filtered". I can easily add games to the filtered list so that's ok but don't how to make up a new list eg a "Shmups" list. I have read through the mamewah site but can't really find any decent info on how it all works.
elvis
I think you need to define a new list type in your mamewah.ini file, which you can then choose from the MAMEWah UI. If you don't find it before then, when I get home tonight I'll try and jump on my cab and find out exactly where to do it.

elvis
If no-one else volunteers for the job, I'll post a big old howto up here in a few days time. Just a bit busy tonight with some server upgrades for a client.
Shock_And_Awe
Thanks Dan. I went into the mamewah ini folder and had a look and found the "All Games" and the "Filtered" lists but my attempts to create new lists were not successful. When you have a chance to give me a howto, it will be much appreciated. Mark.
Smit
What version of MameWah are ya running? If it is 1.61, I know you can use a little utility called MameWah Config (I can email it to ya if ya want). Makes life alot easier to add and play around with all your emulators and their game lists, without ever having to open an .ini file. Hope this helps, Smit EDIT: This is on the DVDs I am sending ya.
