Street Fighter Custom Artwork

Because they suck. There's a Photoshop plugin called Genuine Fractals that can do the impossible - resize up and (virtually) keep image quality. I've used it to blow up artwork in the past and been really amazed at the results. Obviously it isn't as good as having the original vectors or a gigantic image, but it's the next best thing.

Reading the reviews around the net, it seems you need an image roughly 20MB or larger to start with in order to achieve the desired effect.

To put it in perspective, the linked image above is 842KB. Not much you can do with that. Although I could attempt a trace in Inkscape I guess.

You downloaded the image from localarcade didn't you? I hope you didn't use the large thumb I posted.

Yeah, grabbed it from localarcade. I aren't that dumbest!

Folks need to learn what DPI means and how to apply it in real life.

I blew it up to about 70cm x 70cm at 300dpi - result is here (warning - 5MB progressive JPEG).

Not the greatest result. Although I've had a lot of success with Genuine Fractals - things like going from this small pic of Ryu to blowing it up into marquee art (all attempts at tracing it turned out crap, so I resorted to GF). Can you upload your traced pic somewhere Elvis? I want to compare.

I deleted it! :)

It took a while, so I'll run it overnight on my work computer and upload it in the morning.

What format do you want? SVG, AI, PS, EPS, PDF?
