Oh wait... wrong company. :p

Mai then, because "Me bouncy!!!". :lol

(Disclaimer: I suck at all SNK games. Yes, I should learn them and finally make the jump away from Capcom who have all but forgotten their diehard fighting game fans).

96 and 98 are my favs

Most people vote 98 as the alltime best. I just can't get into it. Nothing feels right. The special moves all seem so purposeless and nothing seems to be an intelligent counter. It's all just mindless attacking and hoping your opponent lets their guard down for a moment.

Again, I profess that I have no clue about SNK games. I am Capcom born and bred, and seriously need to get off my arse and learn how the SNK stuff works. I don't mind CvS2 of course, but that's about as watered down as SNK stuff gets (basically SNK characters that play like Capcom characters).

I must admit, I nabbed an import copy of King Of Fighters XI just the other day, and it was not bad. All the reviews say the same thing: the control method was loosened up greatly to try and bring new players back in. So far I have to say that with the little play I've given it, it's rapidly becoming my favourite KOF title to date.

With that said, nothing beats "Garou: Mark of the Wolves". That's the best thing SNK ever spat out, and nothing SNK nor Playmore before or after has beaten it. If you get a chance, play this title. It rocks.

To use one of your comparisons its like ford and holden battle with fans getting worked up over which "brand" is better.

Personally I grew up and got over it a long time ago and like both ;) after all its only a car.

I have a good collection of Capcom stuff that im proud of but I equally love my SNK stuff too got the gist? :)

Got it on import for Playstation 2 from Play-Asia.com

KOF-XI carts are Atomiswave. There's been no SNK games on MVS since KOF-2003. As much as I would love an Atomiswave system, I can't justify paying insane arcade system prices. PS2 is currently a well supported system by SNK/Playmore. All of their fighting games as well as the Metal Slugs are on it, so I use it.

Yeah I get ya.

I just have a lot of mates who play SNK games, and I don't. I'd love to join in on their tourneys (being a big fighting game fan) but don't. Plus SNK/Playmore are still actively bringing out games, which makes me WANT to support them (which is why I bought both KOF-XI and Neo-Geo Battle Colloseum on PS2, despite not really playing either).

Capcom haven't brought out a fighting game worth playing since 2001 (CvS2), although some would argue their last true independant game was SF3:3S in '99.

Time to hit combovideos.com and check out their tutorial videos and learn some SNK tactics I think. :)

Robert, Ryo and Yuri. I have a special place for them as the local fish n chip shop had the original AoF for about 2 years when I was 12 or so.

I have "KoF 04 Special Edition" at home at the moment which is basically '02 with dodgy hacked backgrounds with 8 foot tall naked women in it.
