Were in the World Cup, World Cup, World Cup

Im not a fan of soccer, but it was a great game (the extra time and shoot-out anyway ;)) It was hard not to get sucked into the excitement. One of the best Aussie wins ever.

How suspenseful was the match?

The extra time was pretty suspensful, we needed that one extra goal... plus we had about 80% of the play, so there was plenty of attacking.

It was an absolutely amazing match. Australia could have won 3-0 they just decided to do it the hard way.

The atmosphere in the stadium was unreal, i have never experienced anything like it for a sporting match in Oz. My ears are ringing because the crowd was so loud for the entire match, you couldn't even speak to the person next to you.

OK- guys- I bagged it the other night - remember?, now I stand corrected.

I watched the match from the 2nd half onwards and the old ticker was pounding in that penalty shoot out !!

I have to admit It was enjoyable to watch.

I think this game is going to do massive things for soccer in australia. It had everything, australia attacking and dominating, then winning in a thrilling penalty shoot out. Couldn't ask for much more, other then maybe a few more goals, but 1-0 was the only scenario where there could be shoot outs.

I'm not surprised we won, but surprised that we qualified, i was expecting urguay to score making it 2-1 or something and us missing out.

But the way the crowd was last night we were never going to lose. It was definately their 12th player. In the end that's what made the difference between this match and the one in urguay

Trying to find some other decent pics to put up. But my mate that took the majority of the pics would have to win the award of worlds worst photographer. I've got some video's of the goal being scored and the final PK but the he pans so quickly on them it just looks like a blur.

I dont get it, did you get media access tickets? it looks like you are sitting in different palces in both shots?

EDIT whoops!, all this new fan-dangled technologies... and this amazing feature called "zoom lenses" -my bad

Lol yeah. It's not much of a zoom though, think it's only about 4 times optical or something. That's why most of the ingame pics we took turned out so bad.

Here's a pic we took before the game started as we were getting to our seats. Our seats were down on the front row, right on the corner nearest camera. Which was the 'away side' of the ground.

Was sort of justice in the end, we tried hard and couldn't get tickets in the first round of offers. Then when they realeased the restricted viewing seats we picked them up on the net for less then half what some people payed for seats so high up you wouldn't have even been able to see the players. At the end of the day though, it wouldn't have mattered, it was all about the atomosphere, for some reason i spent more time watching the big screen anyway lol

In my short life i have seen my best concert and best sporting moment, can't help wondering where i go from here :D Well my mate answered that question, he wants to go to germany, chances of that happening.. hmm zero, not even taking bets on that :lol

Funny thing is, i've only really followed soccer for a few years and in that time i have seen greece (my number 2nd team) win euro and australia qualify for germany.

Just letting you guys know, they realeased the dvd of the game this week. It's called 'Super Socceroos: The shooting stars'. Kmart advertised having it avaliable today, but when i got there they didn't have it in yet. Lucky good old jb hi fi have it for $25. It's just the same as the sbs coverage, was expecting a little something extra, but hey.

They did, they repeated the game on fox about 10 times the day after. I did actually tape the game on vhs but i can't stand them. Even with a brand new tape and 6head vcr which i have used maybe twice it still looks crap. And i just can't be bothered searching through them.

Not that i should be talking about this sort of stuff seeing though this a family forum and i am a family guy :p But when i walked into an adult shop the other day, accidently on purpose. They had new release dvd's for $50 and exactly the same thing on vhs for $10. And they were telling me they still can't sell the vhs.
