StevOz
This hack was made by twisty of mameworld, several years ago on request. He hacked it from the original galap4 rom to include the original galaxian graphics, flags and ship. As said these clones were around everywhere here in Perth in cocktail tables, my favourite version of the game.

StevOz
Will it run in MAME32 with the checksum error? Foot Yes, it should run on MAME32, I haven't tested it with the latest versions on MAME, though it works here with MAME32FX .

StevOz
What does FX version offer over the normal mame32 version? Much the same though includes a few tweaks, fixes and one or two other options that might not be in the MAME32 build, been using it since .72 http://mame32fx.altervista.org/features.htm http://mame32fx.altervista.org/archive.htm

StevOz
Doesn't want to run here due to a checksup error. Is there a way to force it? Works fine here, with MAME32FX.105, so maybe try it with an older version of MAME, also works on MAME32FX.72, which I run on an older PC because some games run faster on that older version. This is the rom audit here. galap4 : galx_4c1.rom 2048 bytes INCORRECT CHECKSUM: EXPECTED: CRC(d5e88ab4) SHA1(737a22e406fd0a97d10e93a2c91c3aa61aebbdef) FOUND: CRC(39fb43a4) galap4 : galx_4c2.rom 2048 bytes INCORRECT CHECKSUM: EXPECTED: CRC(a57b83e4) SHA1(335d8674df1d237a4b83da00eb9aee346bc2e901) FOUND: CRC(7e3f56a2)
StevOz
What does FX version offer over the normal mame32 version? A late reply, I know, though with all this talk of galaxian hacks, thought it worthy of a bump. Still runs a treat here with this ol' version of MAME32FX... http://www.pinballnirvana.com/StevOz/mame32fx_0105_i686.exe
