F1: Webber dumped by Williams

Recommended Posts

Nah fuck him. ever since I saw an interview on him bagging Australia saying" I won't live there because the cops are total pricks booking people for speeding" or words to that effect.

You know what they say about blaming your equipment.:rolleyes

Maybe Marcus Ambrose could have a shot at FI, It'd be right up his alley, you know with his big head and all....at least he wouldn't have trouble getting it to fit in the car...that is unless he's actually wearing a balaclava in which case he's helmet wouldn't fit so I guess he wouldn't be racing anyway,

So that'd leave the door open for Brad Jones... mmmm but F1 cars don't look that great upside down, well not as good as Fords do anyway,

Maybe Seato could have a go, it's not like they were going to win anyway..

Oh sorry, I thought this was the bag a Ford driver thread, I must be in the wrong place,

im out of touch with F1 whats the deal with the damping system and what is it:unsure

It's a lead counterweight in the nose. When the nose goes up it goes down and vice versa keeping the car more stable. Apprently the F1 body banned it but at the last race they left it in for scrutineering and they scrutineers said there was nothing in the rules that specified it couldn't be used. Renault removed it anyway as they didn't want to loose any points they may win with it in the car since the ban....and they ran shit!

The good oil is that Mark has quit Williams not they dumped him. Mark had a 2 year contract with them with an option for a thrid and he decided not to take that option. Wurtz is their test driver, that's why he's got the seat.

Marks dad said where he goes depends on what MS does. If MS retires it's likely Mark will go to Ferrari and if not then likely he'll go to Renault.

A guy I used to work with raced karts with Mark years ago and said he's a really good guy. When Mark was running in engines in his Formula Holden at Eastern Creek he even gave him a few laps. Must have been in '96 because he seems to have been in Formula Fords for most of his early open wheeler career.

Anyway, as long as he isn't in a Williams, they should have stuck with BMW instead of going with Ford (hence they'll be using Toyota for the next 3 years).

I've got to say that on the few occasions I've met Mark, he's always come across as a top bloke. I can understand why he'd say something about the revenue raising cops here in Australia. It's not safety they are worried about. If it was, there would be more driver training going on.

As for Webber and Williams parting ways, that's brilliant for Mark as the car just won't complete a race. If it was Mark doing something to break the car then it wouldn't be happening to Nico Rosberg, but his car is also breaking, quite often with the same thing as Marks. I look forward to him having a decent car under him so that we can see just how fast he is.

I'm a big fan of Mark and have met him a few times when I used to run a basketball card shop in Queanbeyan. Nice bloke, and very down to earth.

He's always managed to get more out of a poor car than he should've been able to, so it'll be good to see him in a team with money and the will to spend it. Hopefully he can start mixing it up with the front runners on a regular basis soon.
