pc to arcade monitor

Question

hay guys, i have recently got my self a arcade cab with ms2 in it.

it needs a little work, i am hoping to convert it to a mame cab.

 

now comes my little problem i have made up a wireing harness to go from vga

to the arcade monitor,ofcorse it doesnt work(silly me). is there a way to force lower rezilotion and refresh rates?

will i need to run a diferent front end?(lm using Maximus Arcade atm)

got to love how my 2 nephew's got to it befor me lol

if anyone has any info on my monitor it would be great :)

i have heard of the use of programs like soft15khz

witch i belive suports my 6600gt, bit to late atm

but i will be try to try it out tomorrow

 

if all fails looks like lm up for a arcadevga

if i end up going the arcadevga do i also need one of thoes vga amps?

You can try the soft15Khz thingy, but make sure you only turn on the monitor when the program is started, else you could damage the monitor. There's a Jpac Jamma thingy that 'solves' this problem by making sure the sync frequency is at 15Khz (or whichever is supported, you can set via jumpers IIRC) before passing it to the monitor.

 

I don't think you'll need a VGA amp with arcade VGA. I might be wrong though.

 

Heck I say you keep this neogeo machine as it is and build another mame machine :laugh:

i dont have the room atm to keep stacking up on cabs or build one, i live in a unit ;P

 

so i got this cab with the intentions of restoring it, its got burns all over it

and controll pannel is a heep of shit :P

 

i want all my old fav nes games on there

 

watching one of thoes jamma 1000in1 red boxes boot up

they also seem to have a incorect sync frequency untill the front end starts

they also cas demage to the monitor?

If using soft15k all you need is a Jpac which automatically splits the 31k to 15k until windows boots. no need to leave screen off.

ya sweet once i have got the computer working on the arcade monitor i will then work out all that

 

this is very painfull but fun at the same time :)

learning lots of new stuff

 

all the point of this project :)

 

just nice there seems to always be sombody helpfull in here
