Multibaaaaaall!!! - My New Pins

Recommended Posts

Well, after 15 years, I finally got back into the pinball world and was lucky enough to buy 2 machines in the one week. Here's a photo of Freddy and Super Mario Bros with old man Hulk. Thought I'd upload a few photos for anyone interested. My entry to Aussie Arcade was to see about getting the Hulk in working order again and it's now stirred something inside. The pinball bug has bitten. I'm now on the lookout for a T2 and The Simpsons machine to complete my collection for now.

HA HA The old pinball bug has bitten eh.

Yes it is a very dangerous disease and can often lead to massive fights with the wife and the occasional divorce.

One is NEVER enough. Slowly but surely the house and garage start being taken over piece by piece until furniture is being moved out, the cars can no longer fit into the garage, and your mates are suddenly given a pinball machine or two for FREE as long as they can store them for a year or so, until your kids are thrown out so you can turn their bedroom into storage for more pins.

And just when you've promised your wife that "this is the last pin you will buy", another bargain pops up that you just really want and so the next week is taken up with thinking of the perfect excuse why another pin is coming home.

That's when the old "its OK, Im going to sell a couple to make room for this one" line arrives.

I've been pulling that old line with pretty much every project I start buying into for about 5yrs now. Problem is, I never sell anything - I think the wife is onto me :)

Back on topic - Grats on your two pins mate! Very nice lineup :D

Nice :) You'll have a cracker of a long weekend.

My pin collection started with one last year, the stretched it to two - suffice the wife was perplexed as to why I've picked just picked up a third :)

My cunning plan - I've got her addicted to Big Guns (my first pin) - much better to go on the pin collecting journey with the wife at least partially on board ;)

Nice to see the Hulk machine - brings back great memories of playing it in "Las Vegas" in BrisVegas in the late 80's when my best mate and I skipped lectures to play pins instead :)

Cheers

Simon

Yes, bargains popping up are killing me on a daily basis...bit by bit....e.g. your establishment putting a Back to the Future pinball machine on ebay today. "Back to the Future...a favourite movie of mine....would fit my pop culture themed pinball collection....no money....*shakes fist at the heavens*"

CruiserMan...your avatar is hypnotic.

Longreach - saw that Philip J Fry was after a Mario. I think it was the pinnacle of my Nintendo obsession. I found an old UK gaming magazine that had a competition for the Mario pinball machine. I used to stare at the page longingly. Can't believe I own one after all those years. Pretty cool. My goal is to have a Data East Simpsons by December 25 and I'll really be a happy camper. Not a question of if, but when. Just like the T2.

And to everyone else that posted, thanks for all the kind words. :)

Hi delarge, I know Philip J Fry on here will be gutted, he is on the search for a mario pin himself. Good score! Enjoy!

Hi Delarge,

congrats on your score dude!

Longreach MAY be right there. I'll only be gutted if you tell me that you won the SM in an eBay auction at a price of about $1645???

If so well done, I wanted to bid on said pin but due to work travel missed the auction:cry!

Nice pins nonetheless mate!

$1645? I'd hate to tell you I paid $1645 for Super Mario Bros, so I won't. Instead, I'll say I paid $1645 + $280 delivery. Does that make it any better? hehe.

:D

Just think, it's one less person looking for a SMB now.

Now, where's that Data East The Simpsons I've been after? *looks up in the sky*

Congrats Delarge.

Nice collection you are amassing there. Might have to day trip to Wagga one day and see them in person ;)

And hopefully the Hulk will be working!

....and a new Freddy playfield falling out of the sky would be nice, but I won't run away with myself.

pbresource.com have one for $450 U.S., but not sure if I could be bothered jumping through hoops and spending that sort of cash at the moment. Anyone used them before?
