5'ish horozontal lines across top of monitor

Bikkies

Question

This is what it looks like sorry for crap quality but it should display it clearly enough

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v11/biscuits/17032009501.jpg

It is a http://www.gamedude.com.au/arcade/prod_show.php?art_no=cabLS29_31k_10b

It's a new cab from there got it earlier this year ordered it last year, before i go fiddling i thought better to ask you guys as its my first cabinet.

Current resolution is 1024x768 and horizontal lines still appear in resolutions below and above 1024x768 Connected straight to a Mame PC via AGP ATI 9600 256mb via VGA.

What is causing it and how do i resolve it, what other info is helpful and diagnosing the problem?

I have tried adjusting the size/zoom, h-position and v-position with no luck.

Brightness or contrast doesn't resolve the issue.

I don't know if trying another pc would help, it seems to be more a monitor adjustment issue. Or i could be totally wrong :unsure

FBT (fly back transformer) thats the one where the big lead from the monitor (suction cup) meets up with the chassis.

Thanks so much, i adjusted the brightness on that FBT just enough to remove the lines and i am more than stoked with how the monitor looks now :D

Mine had a third dial though i used the bottom one to adjust the brightness, focus was in the middle with another above that.

Cool, glad you got it fixed... weird though how would it get brighter over time... mmms...

I am pretty sure they have been there all the time, just wasn't bugging me enough to do anything about it until last night, because of playing on a black background they were clearly visible and i didn't want them there.

Monitor comes up to working temperature, caps dry out, resistors go out of tolerance.........
