HORIZONTAL 48-in-1 'game wish list'

Recommended Posts

I (like many of us) like the mix of classic vertical titles on the 48-in-1 boards... but there aren't a lot of good (affordable) options for horizontal titles.

I'm putting together a little MAME configuration in a mini desktop control panel and thought it would be good to have a small list (48-100) of classic horizontal games (classic 80s, not 90s) that took 3 or less buttons.

What would you put on a 48-in-1 horizontal?

Me (to start with)

Asteroids

Wonderboy

Bubble Bobble

Joust

Maybe DM is going to be selling 48-1 Horizontal boards:unsure or he is selling his soul for a wish list 48-1 horizontal board.:lol

I would definately have:

1942

Galaga

Ghosts and Goblins

Wonderboy

The first two are Vertical mate ;)

Ghost and Goblins a worthy inclusion

I'd include:

Bubble Bobble

Double Dragon

Moon Patrol

Vigilante

Bank Panic

Shinobi

Karnov

Wonder Boy

Cabal

Kung-Fu Master

Final Fight (squeaks in from 89?)

Ghouls n Ghosts/Ghosts n Goblins

Rastan Saga

Golden Axe (again maybe too late 80s for your tastes but a classic IMO)

R-Type

Track n Field/Hyper Olympics

Berzerk

That's all I can think of right now.

Cheers

LT.

Berzerk

Track n field

Kung fu master

and R-type

are worthy inclusions as well IMO

Edit Didn't the whole Double Dragon hype thing end when you knew you could do the backwards elbow and complete the game on one credit

Not for me. I still enjoy mixing it up especially headbutting the Green Eyed toughs and wiping out guys by kicking rocks, barrels and cartons back and forth - they're so stoopid! :)

Seriously it's a piece of arcade history and worthy of inclusion as a 3 button classic 80s horizontal.

Cheers

why is this in the for sale section?

Thats a damn good question, I could have sworn I put it in general arcade. Either a mod moved it, or I'm not paying enough attention and a mod needs to move it :)

Btw great suggestions in this thread. How could I have forgotten G&Ghosts!

I *thought* Elevator Action was horizontal when I made my original post but for some reason I culled it thinking it was vert. Anyway Elevator Action is one of the first games I ever played in the arcade and pretty clever for its time - deserves inclusion IMO.
