Any Guns and Roses pin owners out there?

Hi all,

Been looking at a few pins to start my collection and I keep comming back to GnR's. I am a fan of the band and play guitar myself and I am hoping that this pinball is as good as it sounds.

I have viewed it on you tube and also read through a few ratings and there appears to be some mixed opinions. It is a Data East SS which might explain some of the negative comments perhaps??

If anyone owns one or has played one I would appreciate your opinion. I have never played GnR before so it is going to be a bit of a gamble if I happen to buy it unseen.

Thanks in advance.

Great Pin. If you like the Band you will love the Pin. Even my mates that dont like the band still love this Pin.

I will never sell mine. I have had it for 11 years and have never had anything go wrong with it

Hi,

Thankyou to everyone who has replied to this topic so far. I have my eye on that one on ebay, seems like a nice machine.

Keep your comments comming please. Great to hear some good feedback, I really do appreciate it.

Been on the chase for awhile now for one that has a good playfield let alone an unfaded cab. Topper??? never seen one in the flesh on a game. Good luck as it seems to attract more attention than a TZ or MM or CC for example. If you get one P.M me and I may be able to relieve you of that terrible burden in these uncertain times:D at a discounted price of course:)

Hi JPD,

Yep I hear ya, but I am willing to take my time on purchasing my first pin. I like the GnR but I am willing to take a look at anything that comes up in good condition.

Oh and as far as you buyin it back off me at a discounted price, well maybe but I am planning to have a few as a collection....so I am willing to pay a bit extra to make them long termers.

Music, colours are great, love the theme too. It was just boring too me, simple shots and not much variety.

But in saying so, everyone loved playing it, for people not into deep rule set and just want a simple fun game this was the one they went for over my IJ and TZ... But lasting appeal is the let down...

Would I get one again. probably but wouldn't pay big bucks for it, probably why mine even after all the work I put into it got 5.7 k..

The one on ebay does look like a very nice one...

There's also a shop on the South Side that have 3 GnR pins. Except they had the side art printed and put on the sides and then a clear laminate over that..

It actually looks really good except the print looks low res, doesn't have the dots that make up the image of the original art work... If that makes sense

Hi Savage,

Thanks for the advice.

I must admit on allot of the pinballs I have played around the place I always find the challange of a good rule set to be what made me spend all my money and keep me wanting more.

Because I have never owned a pinball before, it is great advice to hear that from someone who has so it's definately something I need to consider.

Hmm...lol....and I though this would be easy, but as I am looking to hold onto what ever I buy, I would rather take my time and make a wise descision.

Thanks again

You seem do have done your homework as there is no substitute for quality i.e Savages GnR which i had an interest in but it went for more than I could spend BUT no where near what it deservered.Who ever bought it I hope they appreciate the effort that has gone into it.

It's a tough decision, If I had the funds I would have kept it, but out of the tree pins it was the one to let go...

Mind you the sound is great if you Love GnR, just a pity of the game itself, and the G Ramp is so steep on it! :realmad:

Yer ty JPD, I usually try to make sure I look into things pretty well before jumping off the deep end, thats a bit of a trait I picked up off my old man. I could imagine that Savage's machince would have been immaculate, I have just been reading his post on the TZ machine he is doing up, very admirable.

That one on ebay looks like the Axl hole might be very worn. I would be very wary when the photo's don't show it clearly because it is a common problem with GNR machines.

I have one myself and I am not a Gunners fan but I do like the rifts they have used in the game. I think the playfield design and the artwork is great.

As far as gameplay goes....I enjoy it. It's not a deep ruleset like TZ but then again I don''t always want to play a deep game and at my skill level I still find TOM and TOTAN challenging where others say they don't.

Personally I would play GNR on pinmame first before purchasing one (if you can't find one to play for real).
