the multiboard red light of death?

Question

got a phone call few weeks ago from a mate who's 48 board had died

 

took out another tested machine all good. bought his home tested on 3 machines no go. tested various PS and monitors to be extra safe. it had a red led flashing on the bottom corner

 

tonite though heck ill test that mini PS and see if it powers the board and plugged it in and no red light

 

take it down the shed and bang board is now running?

 

for several days i tested on and off and no go. now after just sitting around the board works :unsure

 

i almost frisbee'd it out the door

yeah. i was glad i only just got some new ones in when my mate rung

 

fired up several times and all good :unsure

 

I had this problem once when the JAMMA Socket was worn and too wide (By about 1mm)

The PCB wasn't seated right

 

Maybe same??
