Smit
Hi all, I am in the middle of looking at purchasing my 1st house & I thought that you guys, being the vault of information that you are, might be able to answer some questions for me. Here goes: I live in Townsville, Nrth Qld & I am looking at highset houses so as I can fit most of my gear in underneath. Some of these have polished floor boards & some others have something called "Yellow Finger". Does anyone know anything about this "Yellow Finger"? Is it as good quality as normal floorboards (ie: stregnth)? Is there alot of problems with water damage, etc? I am looking at putting tiles or carpet over it, so the aesthetics are not of importance, but the quality obviously is. Any help, much appreciated, Smit

Older stuff may not be as good dunno. Stick with wooden and you will be ok as you can inspect for any damge feom above and below the flooring ;)

The name of the product is AQUATITE FLOORING. What I would suggest with house buying is #1 - GET A WHITE ANT INSPECTION..... NO SECOND CHANCES, even if the owner or realtor states it has been done and or even shows documentation of it being done, GET PERMISSION TO CONTRACT YOUR OWN INSPECTOR and get your own report. My mate lost out BIG TIME...................
