Which Heatsink

Hi , just bought a new celeron 440 Conroe-L for $26 inc postage . Did not come with a heatsink so need some advice as to what to use.

 

Will a stock intel from a E series work or seen a core2quad heatsink going cheap will that be okay , not sure about the pressures these things handle as its my first conroe :) .

 

I will be building a low noise low power consumption torrent box/ web surfer with possibly a cube case so maybe a low profile heatsink is in order .

Depends how cool and how silent you want it to go. For most purposes the stock Intel cooler will work fine. If you want to upgrade then get a copper one with a brushless fan for total silence..

I was more worried about the compatibility between the various stock intel coolers as the Conroe-L is only 35w so she isnt going to get hot in a hurry :) .

 

Im going for a nice quite torrentbox but as its most likely going to be a antec NSK 1380 cube case I dont think any sort of aftermarket heatsink will fit as its tight for space. My biggest worry was the weight and tension differences of the quad core heatsink vs a dual core heatsink .
