No comments yet??? Amazing! One of THE most ill-thought out and ill-conceived, mismanaged bits of legislation to ever hit our luddite infested government has nearly had it's death-knell sounded and a tech based forum doesn't care :tomato

Maybe the "it'll stop kiddie porn that's all we want" propaganda has worked and people have been brainwashed to the point no-one wants to be seen to be on the side of "if you're not with us you're agin us" (TM George Dubbya)...

It's been proven NOT to work in many other countries this really is a victory for the rights of people to make their OWN decisions and not have the government force draconian and ridiculously inept legislation on its people.

Cheers

LT.

damn 'not so hidden' christian agenda is showing more and more now too:

This week Senator Conroy said there was "a very strong case for blocking" other legal content that has been "refused classification". According to the classification code, this includes sites depicting drug use, crime, sex, cruelty, violence or "revolting and abhorrent phenomena" that "offend against the standards of morality".

One more move back to 1984, Big Brother wants to see further :D

BAd stuff really, they need to really think about it. 1/3 the speed with them scanning everything you send, looking for keywords.

And the bad stuff slips under the radar in the usenet and peer to peer stuff, plus torrents

Yahh for Labour

Yes, it's becoming more and more obvious every day, isn't it?

What started as a stand against kiddie porn is rapidly turning into a long list of things that suddenly "offend morality".

As I suspected, pretty much anything the christian right doesn't like is going to end up on this list. Pretty sad really.

Lets hope they actually require legislation to enact this rubbish.
