Well if we can all have our opinion

Here we go

The MB playfields you can't put your tnuts in the back as all the holes are off centre

They forgot to route out the sets of 3 pop bumper bracket holes, so they were done with a counter sunk bit later

The Glue they used was hobbie glue which is a beige color and you can see it through the inserts.

The wood has too many dark layers, so where it is routed you see dark brown parts.

All the above is what I have found so far.

As for the MM playfields, they screened the colors out of order where it should be orange it is purple.

Still better than nothing but with all the experience they have had over 8 years, not ideal.

I agree with those observations entirely. $600, 12 month wait with minimal updates and progressions...knowing somebody who purchased one. Like Wayne said better than nothing.. Somethings are just to good to be true.

In case anyone is fearful of installing their playfield after reading some comments posted here - this is what I received from one buyer who has already managed to do a playfield swap in a Monster Bash -

... found NO problems with the T nuts.

Some holes for the post weren't as deep as needed and had to be drilled a small bit but rather this than be too long and have to re fill. Overall a good and easy playfield to install.

Glad there are some happy campers out there with new playfields for their Monster Bash, Medieval Madness, Creature From the Black Lagoon, Eight Ball Deluxe and (I forget the other ones!)

Despite some negativity and unfortunate delays, I am very happy with the outcome, and appreciate the emails from some of you too, made the whole thing worthwhile and certainly made up for the little bit of negativity Mark C and I received.

Good luck with your playfields guys - I need to get back to the most important one of all - Coconut Island !! :)

I can't see much negativitiy towards you or Mark :unsure but more toward the supplier/lack of info/part quality. I see someone make mention of some of the issues listed in this thread on "RGP"

BUT as they have said "better then what they had".

Thats my observation, i guess things get taken personally easily on forums.

My comments were not direct at Nick or Mark C, they were directed at the quality of the playfields, even wms is concerned about the quality and maybe in the future a sample may need to be inspected by Roger Sharpe.

You do not have our permission to use our company name or refer to our company or our products. Any one that purchased a playfield was contacted and told of any minor issue we found on the playfield so you can stop your malicious propaganda. When (and if) you ever produce a playfield YOURSELF then maybe we can have a side by side comparison.

I would like to apologize to the forum members for my abrupt entrance on to your forum, it was brought to my attention that less than truthful comments were being made and it needed to be addressed.

Many thanks and best regards.

Hi kim

I assume you are from IPB.

Just to add my thoughts of the playfields. My company Child Amusements purchased some of your playfields and are very happy with them.

We have already installed a MB playfield and had no problem with the t-nuts.

We thank you for a very nice product and Welcome to Aussie Arcade

Geoff

Kim,

Glad you finally joined the site, too bad it is not under different circumstances. :(

We have spoken on the phone a number of times ;) welcome to the site all the same.

If you care to introduce yourself there is a section here --> [ame=http://www.aussiearcade.com/forumdisplay.php?f=98]http://www.aussiearcade.com/forumdisplay.php?f=98[/ame] where new members tell everyone abit about themselves.

I am sure anyone who has a new playfield regardless of small issues if any will be happier then with a banged up playfield.

Are you able to share with the community here any trial or tribulations you had with making the playfields :unsure

Thanks again for sparing the time to join.

Cheers

I'm no lawyer, but how can anyone stop someone else referring to their products? Sounds crazy to me. Was the above aimed at the AA forum, or it's members?

Who is Rodger Sharpe? :unsure

he works/worked for williams and is sort of the pinball liasion from what i can gather (not sure of his exact job title :unsure) edit former licensing and marketing director. he has a long history with williams since the 70's (79) and seemed to start as a designer. I think he has 2 sons Zach and Josh (?) that both rank in the top 10 pinball players in world rankings (i am assuming they are brothers). pretty heavy hitter re williams pinball. features a fair bit in Shaloubs books.

imagine trying to get a game at their place on a friday night lol

i guess the problem they have is the comment that they are shit,

I dont think you can stop someone from saying i went to kmart and bought a tv and it was great/crap. Everyone is entitled to an opinion

no you can't mate, I have no idea if the PF's are good, great, average or plain crap but the point here is everybody is entitled to an opinion one way or the other.

Only thing that gets up my goat is when people cant make a point without insulting others, being rude and unprofessional (in the business circles that is).

Welcome Kim.

Kim, please speak to me via our Lawyers, They will be more than happy to supply you with pictures of the faults on the playfields.

Since your MB Licence has now expired we may just have a comparison.

so start a clean one regarding quality and have it out there with lawyers, suicide bombers, goats, mice what ever you want to chuck at each other

as said everyone has a opinion

now all we need now is some chinese bootleg playfields and then people have something to complain about :lol

Welcome Kim.

You are absolutely right. An opinion that is unbiased and objective is very productive. Unfortunately Ballypinball does not have a single modicum of an unbiased opinion towards our company, if he did you would see both praise and critique. The reason we do not EVER go onto forums and talk about any competitors is we understand our opinion IS biased and therefore our statements would NOT be credible.

We do not make comments on forums and then tell our competitor that their comments should be hidden behind lawyers (while at the same time continuing to post in public) because we know our comments, on the rare occasion when we do make them in response to comments made about us, are factual and we will stand behind them 100%.

We have never sold a MB playfield to Ballypinball so his claim that he is a customer of ours in that purchase is false. Because we did not sell it to him we do not know which playfield he has in his possession. For all we know he may have one that was retrieved from our bin out back. We do find it curious that apparently it is worthy of resell because he has it currently listed on his website for sale at a price that exceeds $1300AUD and there is no mention of any flaws.

If he ever produces a playfield on his own he WILL have a much better appreciation for the hard work it takes to make them. If he ever produces a playfield on his own we would be professional and never go out on a public forum and attempt to pick every little flaw that it will have. Those issues would be between him and his customers.

For the record our attorney is real and his firm does have an office in Sydney.

Moved posts re MB PFs

Guys,

I am moving these posts/discussion re MB pf condition to here and I am locking the other thread.

My personal view.

I agree that people involved in competiting businesses should steer clear of commenting about other companies or there products. However I feel the customer do have a right to voice there opinion on products and show pic's to back up there issue with products. simple as that.
