Sega Daytona USA twin. broken.

Question

Hello guys.

we recently moved our daytona twin arcade machine, after doing so one of them no longer works.

at first a blue screen appeared with white stripes, and an error message stating "interupt error. halt 15". we turn the machine off/on again, and the same screen appeared, but the error had gone.

We opened both machines below the seats and noticed that on the broken machine LED 10 was on (red) and on the working machine a green LED was on

If anyone have any idea as to what could be wrong, i would very much appriciate your help.

Hello.

thank you for your replies.

Im not sure what the ride bord is, or where it is located. could you explain that?

We have checked the wires and boards below the seat, and they all seem to be in place.

I would take the boards out, separate them give them a good clean and then place them back again.

The blue screen with no error message is normally no 12 volts from the PSU, check your voltages.

OR, it has lost the serial connection from the IO board.

Blue Screen with white stripes should show and error on the screen Saying "backup ram access error"

This is because the voltage is below 4.8 at the board , if it drops below 4.7 you will see random interrupt errors depending which part of the self it is at when it fails. LED 10 is a HALT LED meaning power up check has failed.

First thing to do is take the plug with the 2 yellow and and 2 white wires off the power supply and little sub board it plugs into , check these connectors , if there are any brown marks on the connectors they need to be replaced.

If you put them back on and the game starts working it will only be short term because these connectors will be burnt or the pins inside the connectors will be tarnished.

The problem wont be link cables because the games will still fire up but show communication error or time out and then try again over and over again.

If the cable comes out from the I/O board you will never get writing on the screen you will only get a color checker pattern.

Just to verify you dont have a board fault you can easily take the non working board out and put it in the working side , from what you are saying it should be ok.

Hello again.

We ended up buying a new motherboard, and now we are one step further. Both machines boot up, but hangs with "network checking". Anyone has any idea what could be wrong. we have checked all cables.

One thing though. The machines registers as Master and Slave, which is fine, but both machines says "Car number: 1" Is that of any significance?

Thank you.

Ok we swiched the boards, and all is working. thank you for your help and suggestions :)
