Just been to see her

The cabinets are Jamma & working, her husband bought out a dealer in Bunbry a year ago (yes another ex operator in Bunbry go figure ??) she sold ten machines out the paper in recent weeks for $25 (non Jamma) theres one on ebay here.

All the machines look like that one on egay, sadly it was not an original Centuri Pheonix :cry

She`s got some pins for sale but im not a pinball fan so didnt take any notice, however, they do look complete, just dusty.

Theres also a couple of cocktails for $50 (non working parts missing) and the glass is scratched to buggery & the chrome is non-chromie (rusty).

She does however have an original Sega "Out Run" (sit down version) sitting on the driveway ? apparentley a bloke came round & said it only needed a power supply & i think that bloke may be Joey from her description ? If it was Joey im suprised he didnt buy it ? $250 for Sega Outrun ? all complete just needs TLC & she`d be a good un.

Follow up; She also had another driving game in the games room for sale, unsure of game, but it was one where two drivers sit side by side, there was another game sitting under here pergola but didnt take much notice.

All the games for sale want the boards removing and selling off & replaced with a multi game boards, they are a nice handy size cab.

Oh yeah & the cocktails are that dark wood colour, one has both CP`s & coin missing & the other has its CP but coin is missing on that as well, i did notice faded writing on the one with CP`s intact "Puckman" Jap version of Pacman by Namco (unsure if hers is original) looks very similar as Klovs pic.

I offered to take some pics to post here but she wasnt very keen on that (i offred twice) and she was non to happy her landline was on the forum, she`d prefer her mobile to be on here as she has little kids & didnt want us nerds ringing late at night.

I wont give out her name incase one of you lot ring her & start heavy breathing, but she is a nice lady so dont be ringing her late at night.

Mezo.

Why aren't there any working 300 dorrar working cocktails in Brisbane??? Looks like I'm stuck making my own for now.

Just out of interest I'm wondering what you guys think is a "good" price for a pinball. I'd always assumed around $2500 for a working good nick 90s machine was decent, am I that far out?

If I could procure Fish Tales and The Party Zone for substantially less than $5000 combined I'd be very interested - tell me the secret to acquiring cheap pins! :(

Cheers

All those titles are from the late 70's - early 80's and none are "A" list titles, $1500 should buy you any of those titles fully working with boards reworked.

For 90's pins $2500 is about average for a popular title.

"The Party Zone" do you mean "The Twilight Zone " I'd expect to pay from $4000 to $5000 for it.

There's no secret to buying cheap pins, just keep your eyes open.

Cheers

I just picked up those 2 cocktails for $100. Haven't had a look inside them yet but seems like a reasonable buy. I'm happy anyway. Most of her uprights had small (14") monitors and the only 19 incher she had that I was interested in she didn't want to sell (Bad Dudes vs Dragon Ninja). Some of the cabinets are in poor shape but most of them seem to run OK.

Those cocktails were the only bargain i could see, i sat and looked at them, scratched me chin & said "Nah not today" i got other & just as expensive hobbies.

It was the Pheonix i was intrested in.

I think you will do ok with them, new glass, re-chrome, 60 in 1.

Nice if the Puckmans an original, dont think it is & ill be kicking myself it is

I passed on the uprights and and only noticed the cocktails piled off to the side as I was leaving. They seem solid and the laminate is in pretty good nick. As you say a bit of time and money and a spit-and-polish and they should come up alright.

Honestly mate I don't know anything about the inner workings of arcade cabs. This is only my second purchase. I can tell you the Puckman cab has been gutted completely. Just the plastic monitor bezel and control panel and controls left. The other machine still has the monitor in it. I couldn't see a game board in there though.

Pins. Funny. See, I don't even know the lingo. The pinnies looked to be in really good condition (to my untrained eye anyway). Thanks for the welcome guys. Already, I can see a house full of machines in the not-too-distant future.
