Desperatly seeking Help.....Joysticks...

Question

OK, now, its been mentioned that I'm a red-head.......... well the temper that goes along with the hair colour is pretty damn close to exploding and throwing this bloody, stupid, fucked up joystick across the damn room...............

I'm seriously losing it BIGTIME!!!!!!! Patience is NOT my friend right now.

I can NOT get this bloody joystick to go in right, the little pictures on the box is not being all that helpful right now........

I would GREATLY appreciate any advice available.

I have black bat style joysticks (they were fairly cheap.... dont know what brand they are.... they were from in-2-amusments in perth)

I will chuck in some pictures in a minute incase that will give you some idea what im doing wrong....... its driving me MENTAL......:evil:x:confused::cry

it just doesnt seem to want to actually stay up the top of the CP. it just drops through, and how the F.... do i get those little clips on???? they seriously dont fit!!!!!

(ok i know a bad tradesman blames his tools....blah blah.... but right now this bad trades-woman.... is likely to burn her tools and Dale (hubby) will get a packet of TIM TAMS for xmas if i can't figure these joysticks out.)

Thanks in advance for your help.......and for bothering to continue to read after i started to rant.... :)

Are you trying to mount the metal plate of the joystick from the bottom or the top of the panel?

How big was the whole you drilled for the joystick shaft?

Do you mean that the WHOLE joystick falls through, or the 'shaft' of the joystick falls through the joystick body? It sounds like the clips you're refering to are E clips (look like a C or a very round E). You may need some pliers to snap those on (one side of the pliers on the back of the "C" and the other side of the pliers on the other side of the joystick shaft).

Mount the joystick body to the underside of the 19mm timber panel (should be four bolts) with the hole for the bat handle centred in the 28mm CP hole.

Then insert the bat handle and plastic / nylon bushes, push down and place circlip on.............

them clips bend easy

Circlip pliers are the answer, only bend the clip out enough to free it, otherwise they wont close well enough later

They are available from bunnings for about 10 bucks

ok crappy pics, but that is the CP... very basic so far and with exceptionally short joysticks as they keep falling through............

second one is from the back...... obviously not attached yet, or finished for that matter.

thanks for that, Dale has a set of surclip pliers in his work toolbox, which i am banned from.......APPARENTLY, i steal his tools and dont put them back.....:rolleyes

So i could ask to borrow them, however he would want to know why!!!!! DAMN CURIOUS MEN!!!!!:D

The dust plate sits loose on top of the CP.

The bush under the dustplate (in the pic on the right) should stop the shaft from fallin through. Another bush goes onto the bottom after the shaft is through the joystick body (where the Microswitches are mounted to), then the circlip locks it all on.....
