48-in-1 Wiring help!?

el_timbo86

Question

Hey guys,

I was wondering if someone could help me out with, or point me to a thread which shows how to correctly wire a 48-in-1 JAMMA board. I am really lost when it comes to wiring the power supply side of things, and i dont want to fry the board, or myself for that matter!

From what i can see, wiring the control panel is similar to the way you wire an iPAC, but i could really do with some help hooking the board up to an arcade PSU.

Thanks in advance,

el_timbo86 :)

Any pictures of your wiring would be of great assistance!!

Easy enough.

If you are only using a 48-in-1 in this machine you won't need heavy duty (or multiple runs of) wire for power as they don't use much current at all.

For a 48-in-1 you only need to wire the GND, 5v and 12v connections.

Connect the gnd (not the FG or mains ground) to all the jamma GND pins - you don't need to wire to every pin, carefully adding solder to the pins you can connect between ones close together. Keep in mind there are clusters of gnd pins at both ends of the JAMMA connector.

Repeat the same for the 5v pins, and the 12v pins. If your PSU has -5v and/or -12v then ignore them for a 48 in 1.

by Dezbaz if your jamma connector is unlabelled or chinese.
