He's just throwing in his 2c. Looks good though, I'll be moving soon so when I change over I'll go one of the new plans. I'm on the VoIP plan (even though I rarely use it and didn't even set my router up last time I moved) and I noticed the DL's are the same for those plans as the regular ones. The only exception is you get 128 instead of 64 if you get shaped and must pay by credit card which are both good for me.

I pay $59.99/month for the ADSL2+/30GB+20GB Heavy plan, if I call TPG I will be worse off :o

Who with? I'm with Internode who service and relability side are fantastic but the cost/bandwidth is not very competitive. I know I'll probably be trading off reliability but damn 25gig these days isn't a lot with my leeching habits ;)

They've updated their 2+ plans as well. The $59.99 Ultimate Heavy plan is now 35G+35G so you'd actually be better off.

Thanks for posting that link, I was looking at the ADSL plans instead of the ADSL2+ plans. I will call TPG on Monday to "upgrade" to the Ultimate Heavy plan ;)

we got out of tpg they were crap speeds we waited a year for them to upgrade to adsl+2 as they said they were but they didnt so we left and i just checked they still havent upgraded it yet

Doesn't make much sense. If they haven't got ADSL2+ available then you have a Telstra service and whichever ISP you go with the service itself is the same just who bills you is different. The only difference between ADSL ISP's is their level of customer service and how they charge you. Optus do have their own services out there but most of it still relies on Telstra somewhere down the line.

I'm with TPG because they are cheap and I know enough not to need their customer service (which is shit).

That being said, the first ISP to offer ADSL2+ in my exchange I'll be going with. Actually TPG already do but I'm off a sub exchange which Telstra will not allow any other ISP to put equipment in so until I move no 2+ for me.

it takes time and money to roll out your own dslam exchanges

i have been using tpg for about 7 years at least now and never had a drama with them

are u sure you had asdl at home and not 56k dial up??? then you would be having crap speeds

on my 1.5 meg connection i currently have i can regularly get d/l hitting 160k/s and higher on my ubuntu pc's
