Uzebox homebrew console

Uzebox is a homebrew console project, with all hardware schematics and software freely available under the GNU GPL license for use and modification (including commercial use!):

CPU: ATmega644 microcontroller

Total RAM: 4K

Program Memory: 64K

Speed: 28.61818Mhz (Overclocked)

Colors: 256 simultaneous colors arranged in a 3:3:2 color space (Red:3 bits, Green:3 bits, Blue: 2 bits)

Resolution: 240x224 pixels in tiles-only mode

Video output: NTSC Composite

Sound: 4 channels wavetable, 8-bit mono, mixed at ~15Khz and output via PWM

Inputs: Two NES compatible joypad inputs

Options: MIDI-in interface and s-video output

I'd love to have a crack, but the volume of half-finished (or even unstarted with parts just waiting) projects already sitting in my gamesroom is growing to a point where I can't even fit in the bloody room due to the mess.

 

I need to finish off a few old ones before starting yet another. :)

I know the feeling. My fiancee is on a ebay selling frenzy right now, every thing I've brought over the last eight years is up for question as to whether I use em or not...

 

she's now selling my mint condition edition 3 AD&D set of books, dice and an adventure... :(

 

I know I'll never play it, but it's hard to let go...

I still have my dice, and yeah am not able to let em go. So many good memories of AD&D with my school mates. Shame I didnt keep my manuals.
