Pinball backglasses and arcade cabs for sale.

Recommended Posts

Visited a local amusement hire place today to hire a jukebox and the owner has lots of arcade cabs and the following pinball glasses for sale. He seemed very interested in AA and said he will be checking out our site out himself. The glasses: Totem (the pre 90's one), 2 solar rides, 2 stellar wars, Flight 2000, and Cosmic Princess. He has old arcade glasses: Bally Strike Bowling, and Sharpshooter. The glasses are stored on racks high in the shed and are pretty filthy so I have no idea as to their condition.

PM me for his ph number, its Newcastle/Lake Macquarie area.

I went to see the guy today but apparently he wasn't selling any which was a little bit of a let down.

Well that would piss me right off if i wasted my time going there:x

Did you ring him first and ask him ?

I collect backglasses and my experience has been that operators are pretty much loathe to let these go unless they are 100% sure that they have no backbox or other parts machine that it will fit, now or in the future.

After all - nothing worse than FINALLY doing up the old cob-webbed box at the back of the warehouse and finding you dumped the glass for a few hundred bucks the year before, effectively making the machine a VERY hard sell. Mark and Wayne would back me up on this one, as would the Bike City Warehouse boys (all of whom I have bought, or attempted to buy, backglasses-only from) :)

So perfectly understandable position in my mind. Course, it would have helped Sector 7 if he had known this before he made the trip Fish Tales... I think some may have (wrongly) assumed that you were promoting the glasses as being for sale by mentioning them in your post and offering PM details and a number etc.

Never mind - Caveat emptor, naturally.

Mate the operator stood there made a list of the glasses he wanted to sell (which was all he had) and said it was cool if I let members know about them (and the cabs). Everyone is correct in thinking I was promoting them for sale!

Obviously sum1 else has grabbed the lot, or the op has had changed his mind, and maybe its easier to keep this stuff to yaself.

Don't worry Greg, I know you were only trying to help other members out ,and i know you'd NEVER fuck anyone around:)

The bloke probably got so many people calling him about them, that now he thinks they're worth a fortune ,and he doesn't want to sell them.

He'd be the one doing the fucking around.

Thanks Greg for the "heads up",

If he had backglasses for my 2 machines I'd be straight on the phone.

Any info on potential pinball/parts that may be available is muchly appreciated.

thanks for posting.

cheers Steve.
