Simpsons movie bluray

Recommended Posts

I have to wonder, how much better can The Simpsons be (a cartoon, which albeit animated with more detail than the TV) show still has a very simplistic picture (eg there's not a lot of texture or colour variation)... How is it that HD (blu-ray) looks any better than a regular DVD?

I'm glad someone else said it.

Hi def is wonderful for ultra-detailed and complex cinematography and visual effects.

I'm not really stressed about watching animation (western or eastern) in standard def. :)

Do they make it so high def that you can actually see tiny ink blots and stuff like that?:lol

Ink? Mate, nobody has hand-painted cartoons for 5+ years now. :)

The Simpsons is done in Korea now, by sweatshops full of Korean animators being paid $10/day for working 12 hour shifts. Same as most American animation that becomes popular and turns into an enormous profit center.

US artists "keyframe" the show (ie: draw the main layout and frames for each scene), and then it's shipped off to Korea where the mundane stuff in the middle is fleshed out, and shipped back for edit and comp.

The whole lot is done on computer using tablets and graphics tools.
