How are WMS playfields attached to the cabinet??

Mickey Juice

Question

This is a n00b question...

Having never owned a Williams pin I'm just curious to see how the playfield is supposed to connect to the cabinet...

My Funhouse (1990) has two bolts (that don't match) sticking through the side with nothing holding them. The PF sits on top just wearing the thread...

Are there meant to be any lock nuts? or washers or something?

I was under the impression it was only System 11 machines that used that pivot system.. *shrugs*. Makes working on the back of the playfield a pain as you can't just slide it forward.

If nobody has done so by the time I get a chance to, I'll take a photo of the pivot in my Rollergames. Will probably be done tomorrow afternoon.

MJ - The original part I was referring to was the pivot for the head - as wayne pointed out. You do not need this part.

The second part was the actual pivot that you are looking for - but you will need to work out whether you need one or two bolts, and then you will need two pivot nuts. The pivot nuts keep the bolts in position so you can lever the playfield without scraping the sides.

The part numbers will be in the manual. I might download it and have a look.

Is this the bolt I need?

The one in that link is only three quarters of an inch long ,maybe try this 0ne its an inch and a quarter should be plenty long enough

Thanks goes to Narelle for helping in finding out info on the bolts.

They're coach bolts, and the same size thread as the leg bolts.

I grabbed a few from Coventry Fasteners for $1.

We're having no luck with the pivot nuts, so the engineer here at work is going to make some sleeves for me (playfield will pivot on these, and a normal nut will hold it in place).

Could someone please tell me approx. the length between the inside cab and the end the pivot bolt so we can make some sleeves?

Some closure for this thread too.

Here's what the engineer made for me, just some metal sleeves to slip over the bolt and a washer for the cab side.
