Adding headphone jacks to jamma cab

revolt

Question

Just wondering if anyone knows how to add headphone jacks into a jamma cabinet? I know the sound is mono but is there any way to have headphones playing the same sound in each speaker as well as cutting out the speaker sound as soon as you plug the headphones in? :unsure

Neo Geo was so ahead of its time with these sorts of things.

resonably easy to put a jack in the speaker out line, problem is, the impeadiace would kill something. Most pcb's are 8ohms, headphones are usually 16ohms.

If you get a panel jack, it will hav a cut out already in it.

a panel jack is a socket that has a screw on nut on the end on the socket to be able to be fitted to a panel, ie hole and has pass thru connectors so if a plug isn't there it passes the signal onto the speaker.
