graf
Guys, I got a control panel approx 54cm longs. Does anybody have templetes for control panel outlays ? I want to set it up for SF II. I know it will be a bit small :).
0 elvis
Not wrong it's small. Even 60cm is squeezy for 2 player street fighter. What sort of layout do you prefer? Straight-across, oldschool arc, or newschool arc?
0 graf
any. I just have to get the plans to my mate and he will get it all done at his work. laser cutting :)
0 elvis
If he's a laser cutter, he should have access to a basic CAD program and be able to knock them up. If not, give me some dimensions and I'll do you one tonight in DXF format. Give me: Panel Width (54cm?) Panel Height Button size/brand preference (28mm Happs? 30mm Sanwa?) Screw spacing width for the joystick (unless you're going to drill this yourself) Joystick brand/hole needed (28mm MCA/Happ, 24mm Sanwa, 40mm Suzo). I'll do the rest (fire/start/button/stick spacing and whatnot).

0 elvis
Did you need joystick mounting holes in that too? Or will you drill your own?
0 graf
yep :) they will just feed it in the computer :)
0 elvis
Bah, I screwed up something. Posting a second time.... Assumptions: MCAs are all born alike, and the two I have infront of me are the same as all the others. 80mm x 95mm plates, with 5mm holes spaced 65mm x 75 mm (working with the outer most holes). Happ buttons only need 28mm button holes, but you asked for 30. No dramas, as the button lip will hide it fine. There are three layers in the drawing: the top "0" layer, a "hidden" layer, and a "dimensions" layer. Obviously turn off everything but "0" before you feed it to the laser cutter. I haven't included start buttons as it's really squeezy. Slap them on the wood part of the cab somewhere. Preview is attached. Gimme a minute to upload the DXF and I'll edit this... 0 elvis
Double-check the measurements on the CAD drawing with your sticks to make sure they match up. Like I said, I'm assuming the MCAs infront of me now are the same as all the other ones. But you know what they say about assumption. :)

0 elvis
Sorry I didn't respond to that PM. I'll do it here: A standard JAMMA harness will provide a SF2 CPS1 system with 1P and 2P joystick inputs, as well as all the punch buttons. For kicks, you will need a separate kick harness (hence the name). Scroll to the bottom of KLOV's Street Fighter 2 entry, and you'll find PDF manuals documenting how you need to make the harness: http://www.klov.com/game_detail.php?letter=&game_id=9814
0 graf
on the jamma board is the solder side the top of the board ? and the component side under the board ???
0 elvis
on the jamma board is the solder side the top of the board ? and the component side under the board ??? "Components side" are where all components live. ie: CPU, RAM, ROMs, etc. Usually referred to as "the top". Solder side is the one where all the soldering is done to attach the components to the board. Typically "the bottom". Considering a board can be laid down in any way, or even rested on it's side, it's better to refer to it by components/solder than top/bottom. Of course, if they were *REALLY* smart, they never would have invented a JAMMA harness that could have been inserted back to front in the first place. Morons.
