anyone used a bytec 13h programmer

bought this today for a test and tinker in to roms

 

anyone used one. It has the manual which is handy and disk. Im assuming being old school i will need to make a win 95 or dos unit to run it

 

for the price with post (just under $50) i reckon its worth a punt

 

lots of sockets on it :o. looks huge too

Old programmers tend to be good programmers.

I have a few different types but nothing like that.

I think it comes down to more along the lines that ultra cheap programmers are crappy programmers. The old ones that are around were fooking expensive when they were new, so they fall into the quality bracket, if you are willing to accept the limitations. New ones are either cheap and nasty, or not cheap and nasty, theres nothing inherantly wrong with modern ones, and you dont have to go much over $200 to get a decent modern one.

 

At the end of the day a programmer will either program an eprom or it wont, if it will do it then the only difference between programmers is how easy that process is.
