No Coin Mech??

Recommended Posts

That and some ops must take out the mechs and install them in their other games or keep them as spares for when others break down on site.

I think it's the same reason that some of them sell them without door locks as well - some ops may have all their machines keyed alike so they keep the lock and install it in their new game.

Does the pinball not come with one originally?

.

Actually no

My NIB Batman did not come with a coin mech

And I think they cost $3-400 for one to suit a modern (DMD onwards) era machine

So I can see why they would want to keep them

Plus with cointainer pins coming from Europe, the coin mech would have to be re-programmed to take Aussie coin

easier just to remove it

But the machine does come with a coinbox, and that is frequently missing !!!

New pinball's usually come with mechanical coin mechs , we convert them here in Australia to NRI or QL electronic mechs on the left slot and leave the right slot mechanical as a backup.

So most operators assume that home users aren't going to need an electronic mech so they remove them , some put the mechanical $1 mech back in and some just leave it empty.

The NRI mechs that were used in Pinballs haven't been made for about 7 years so most operators want to keep them for spares , a New QL mech is about $240.

Same here, all the new pins comes with no coin mech.

And we use SECI electronic coin mechs as NRI are just bad....

Some of the old pins like the pin 2000 came with mars cashflow coin mechs but those where replaced with SECI.

I think i need to do my homework on coin mechs:) I didnt realise there were different kinds, i thought they were pretty much all standard world wide( not including coin size ). I never thought ops would think we would put our belovid pins on site either, then again, they dont really know who they are selling to i spose. Thanks for the heads up:D
